Mens Shed Organisation?

Just wondering if anyone has heard of this group or is a member?

From what I can make out its a community group for men where they have sheds set up with tools so that you can make furniture or do welding or similar stuff and they host BBQ's and the like, the idea being to get blokes that are isolated or on their own out into the community and making some new friends and doing stuff they enjoy.

If that is right then it sounds like a good idea, they appear to have several in S.A as well!

hadn't heard of it but it sounds like a good idea for blokes who are maybe widowed, etc and have a fair bit of spare time (or just want to get away from a nagging missus!)

As if getting to the footy each week isn't tough enough with the WAGs, imagine saying that on Sundays you're off to "Mens Shed" group?

Is this like one of those groups in the US where normal, level headed business types go off into the woods to spend a weekend in one of those Indian sweat hut/sauna type things and get naked and hug each other and cry a lot
