I spent 7 years at TQEH and purchased my Sat night Lotto tickets from Lizzie's for that time, not once did I exceed $50 on my returns....

Just another hard luck story I guess....

still think its crazy that one bloke can with an obscene amoutn of cash like that

would much prefer they capped it and 20 people win $5m

still the biggest legal gambling scam in the world today, and millions fall for it...

If the most people could win was $5m i don't think there would have been as many tickets purchased and thereby the total prize pool would have been less.

It just shows how lazy people are and how little understanding the average person has of probability and gambling that there are so many entries in events like this. :roll:

If you really want a chance to win $1m+++, a much, much better way would be to bet on something which you actually know something about, which improves yours odds considerably. For most of us, a good choice would be to bet on AFL/SANFL football.

Try this:

1. Choose 5 (say) AFL/SANFL games each week in which Sportsbet are offering good odds on a team to win (in your opinion)
2. Place a $1 multi on those 5 games.
3. If it wins, place all your winnings on another 5 game multi the next week.
4. Repeat this for about 10 weeks, and you should have over $1m in your account if every selection wins (depending of course on the odds of each game)
5. Once a selection loses, start over again, you have only lost $1.

The chances of winning $1m+++ this way are significantly greater than winning this amount in any lotto, in which the odds are much more heavily stacked against the punter.
Plus, you also have the option each week to keep some of your winnings, if you aren't game to re-invest everything each week.

And watching football matches is much more fun than watching little balls come out of a machine! :lol:

Or even just to keep going all up on red/black on roulette at the casino is a much better way of trying to win $1m+++ than in a lottery.

- that is much quicker than sports betting
- a casino is more likely to accept your larger bets than a bookmaker is
- the odds are still soooooooooooo much better than a lottery

Not quite the rest of the world, just those who put money on Lotto.
And not just regular gamblers are aware of it.
The bloke next to me at work never gambles but was just yesterday making point of the ridiculous odds on offer with lotto.
I'm aware of many non regular gamblers who are aware of this including my 12 year old daughter!
