Mate from Freeling has a lad in the senior colts and said the umps lost the plot in the game, throwing out 50 metre penalties like confetti. There WILL be an issue, as a written complaint is going in to the umpiring admin this week.
Noted one of the umps in that game was a bloke called Chris Cameron. The bloke should never umpire junior games as he makes himself the focus of the game, to the detriment of the players and the game itself.
I know he doesn't officiate that much in this league, but I watched a junior game a couple of years ago (Sth Gaw v Kap) and he was awful then. From recollection a complaint was lodged at that time too! Coincidence?

So its the umpires fault you lost Sat?
You havn't won a game this year.

what the hell are you doing on here again NM... read the post properly... he said lad in the senior colts... they are in the top 4... but still no umpire could change that result...

but seriously everything needs to give the umpires a break... yes they make some terrible decisions at times but they are only human... they don't have slow moment, they don't have x-ray vision so they can't see things from the same angle as the spectators... if they didn't rock up every week then everyone wouldn't have any footy to watch...
Life is what you make it... Live with no regrets...

The umpiring is always going to be of a ordinary standard , lets just accept it and enjoy the park football for what it is.

all of these sour grapes and complaining about umpires is a detriment to this BLG thread. who cares how bad the umpiring is, they don't have blokes waiting in the wings to replace them so get over it.

Perhaps you can start a new thread about BLG umpires cause it has no place on here. There is only room on here for bagging coaches and players.

How can you say there is only room for bagging coaches and players?
Your just as bad as us against the umpires, umpires are apart of the game as much as the players and coaches.
And yes I know it's unsportsman like to abuse umpires but it gets extremely frustrating when they are obviously biast against your team.

Because its bloody boring. The same old sooks singing the same old tunes every year and so far this is all the reports we've had to enjoy about the weekend. its not going to change so say your piece and move on.

why dont you give us something about your teams performances or will they be hitting the track this week blaming it on the umpires as well?

perhaps your coach will need to tell them what any umpire will happily tell you.... if you play in front you will get more free's & if you shut your mouth you give less away. pretty simple really but i guess you wont agree.

Swooper wrote:THe Ango v Tan game was a very good fair clash with Ango playing very well and getting close in the last quarter only to be run over by Tanunda's class. Liked the look of Dawe's and Robbo for Ango and also No.1, I think it is a Roesler. A puff of wind would blow him over but goes all day. Ango without Harvey and Tanunda without Greenwood and Kaesler was a little dissapointing. Looks like last season's bitterness has now gone, especially with the coahing panel at Ango, the only mistake I think Hadden made for the day was not playing Reinman more in the ruck.

Does anyone know how bad Chad Obst's shoulder is? Heard he came off early.

Nuriootpa would have to be the best team in the BLG at the stoppages. So many players that are capable of winning the clearance, Chris Gerhardy is and has always been the best at reading the ruckmen's taps. Nat Salter, Shawn Gibson, Billy Nicholls, Craig Gogoll and Ryan Salter all add to a very potent midfield and will definately be able to push Tanunda come September.

Gers is an absolute local legend, he knows how to get front position and with sappsford dropping crumbs his way all day makes for a well seasoned combination around the stoppages versus the power play of wells and greenwood will make for an interesting encounter come finals time.

Nelsons message and game plan mustn't be getting through, i heard on the weekend that at 3 qtr time in the willaston game he told his players that if they wanted to play like individuals and not as a team to take a walk now.

They are definitely gone for 2009 which would have to be an underachievement, they had the second most players nominated in the representative squad.

Barossa's season was over before it started. Nelson lost a lot of players from last season's team. If Barossa say they have a new coach next season will be on surprise to anyone. I think Nelson will sitting in his car everynight at the club to see if they start talking to other coaches. Being a Tanunda man i will be at the game this week so I will have a look to see how the players react to Nelson when he talks. Will they look at him? Will they stand outside the pack?

You can't point the finger at Ryan Nelson for Barossa Districts imploding and under achieving this season.

I believe the board are responsible for not appointing a suitable coach after winning 2 premierships and being content with that. Why not get the possible coach out there and with the already established playing list build on winning 3 , 4 or 5 premierships over the decade.

Now they have a situation were players are leaving , playing just to pick up a pay cheque and not responding to direction from there coach. The wheels have come off at Williamstown and i wouldnt be suprised to see them collect a couple more wooden spoons rather then premierships before the decade is out.

Would any other club in the BL&G have Ryan Nelson as there senior coach ? ..... my answer is he wouldnt get a gig with any Gawler Centrals team, the guy just hasnt got any ticker.

Is nelson to blame? One always questions their motives for being there in the first place if they jump ship from a team that played in a GF, just maybe those that left were only recruited for a 2yr tilt at premiership glory with occonnor in the first place.

Does go to show you how good barossa are without the big money players though.

Thats the culture occonnor usually brings to clubs and the legacy that he leaves in his wake, the dogs got a couple flags out of it so a few wooden spoons won't bother them too much.. Maybe they will put together a stimulus package next year for Nelson and give him a chance to redeem himself.
