DATING SERVICES

Postby mal » Sat Jun 27, 2009 12:03 pm

Do dating services work ?
So often I see the full page ads in The Advertiser /Messenger Press etc

MALe seeking feMALe
MALe seeking MALe
These are mostly adverts by middle aged/mature aged people

feMALe seeking MALe
feMALe seeking feMALe
These are less predominant

The adverts would cost about $75 -$150 on average by the looks ?

Most of them read like [for a feMALe]
Mature slim blond 45
seeking gentle easy going person
likes going out
needed for companionship
etc etc

OK
Whos tried a dating service ?
Do they work ?
Do you know of anyone thats tried them ?
Whats the ratio of married to single people in the system ?
Has Bayman tried ?

I know of one person who has recently shacked up with a shiela from one of these adverts
Heez enjoying being a single fella again and heez older than me !

Well gee, I have often thought about it, but being a bit shy cant quite build up the courage. For me its best to stand in the supermarket and look lost, with something in your hand like a stock or something. When you spot the one you like, look all helpless and mumble something like :could you help me" see I am cooking dinner tonight for my daughters and I wanted to do a rack of lamb roast, but gee now I am not so sure. Works 8 times out of 10 and two came hope with me to help prepare it.

Being shy you will find this shocking, but having coffee recently in a strip, I saw a stunner, blonde, no ring, looking through the shops. Next door was a florist so I rushed in and bought a single rose, walked up to her and said, excuse me but I have never seen anyone more beautiful in my life, please take this rose as thank you for making my day. Bingo!

Guess if I wasn't so shy I might join a dating site (sigh)

Yeah they definitely work and you can make some good friends (which of course stands for "For Rooting If Ever Not Dating Someone") through them ... As Grant said, there are a few fruitloops out there, but don't get disheartened by them

I'm relatively new to this as my wife only died last October - but a man has needs...
I had a quick look at Oasis Active, without signing up, but the selection I saw on that one occasion was not inspiring.
I may have a closer look when I'm not as busy, but the supermarket technique does seem to work fairly well.
I'm still picky - "wanted attractive, intelligent, educated, woman with her own career and income, and about 20 years younger than me..." ;)

Cremorne Woolies (NSW) is quite famous for it 'singles' night every Monday.

Apparently you leave a a bunch of bananas poking out of your basket to 'put yourself out there'.

And away you go...
