Incorrect, the broadcast started on time at 11:15pm but was on a 30 min delay to align with the Eastern states.

Overnight results:

Women's seeds Azarenka, Dementieva, S. Williams, Petrova all through. Razzano defeated Zvonareva in a walkover.
Seeds Bartoli and Cilbulokova bundled out.

Men's seeds Djokovic, Karlovic (defeating 9th seed Tsonga), Verdasco (defeating 32nd seed Montanes), Federer (in 4 sets) and Soderling through.

Tommy Robredo out, and two men's games were suspended due to bad light at very interesting stages. Tommy Haas and Marin Cilic are at 2 sets all, and 6-all in the final set, with Haas staving off 2 match points to this stage.

Andreev leads Seppi 2 sets to 1, 5-5 in the fourth.

Some great games tonight. Samantha Stosur takes on Ana Ivanovic in a match of divided loyalties for many male fans, Lleyton Hewitt has a tricky match against Philipp Petzschner, Nikolay Davydenko meets Andy Roddick, David Ferrer squares off against Radek Stepanek in a match that has all the hallmarks of the upset to the latter, and Venus Williams plays Carla Suarez Navarro in a similar scenario - don't discount the latter player there to cause a boilover.

Good straight sets win by Hewitt tonight. He should go alright against Stepanek.

He has managed to fight back with a 4-0 lead in the third. It's going to take something else to take it beyond four sets though you feel.

What a win, he played irresistible tennis from the third set onwards and he's fired up about it. Even if you're not a fan of his attitude, you have to love the way he fights and scratches under adversity. Exactly the sort of player we want representing our country (albeit without a few of the fan encounter horror stories), not some clown like the Poo.

So it's Roddick vs Hewitt in the quarter finals.

only if Roddick gets passed Berdych 1st

Currently
Court 1 T.Berdych v A.Roddick 3-3
