I wonder if he was going to be releasing some new music in his upcoming concerts. I believe if this was to happen all CD's would sell out pretty quick!

I would suggest a RIP topic is not the place to joke about the recently departed.

There is a Best Jokes thread on here if you wish to use it.

It's incredible to think what he could've achieved had the various controversies not come up.

Wasn't a new album set to be released soon?

I'll like to remember him more from his glory days in the 80s and early 90s, instead of the the last 10 years or so of his life. I felt sorry for him towards the end because he seemed to me to have deep seated, long term psychological issues. I could barely stand to look at the strange new face compared to the good looking young guy from 25 years ago.

I felt like I grew up with Michael Jackson's music. Beat It / Thriller / Billie Jean must be one of the most successful 1-2-3 singles off one album ever. We all had a copy of Thriller. In his prime he was a brilliant and gifted performing artist. Some of his hits are timeless.

So I'm sad today. It feels like the end of an era. RIP Michael.

It's already been three. Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon (sidekick of Johnny Carson).

I went to his concert at Olympic Park in 1987, having been given a freebie (wasn't planning on going). It was one of the great shows I've ever attended. He did know how to put on a concert and that period from 77-83, he was massive and leading the way. Last decade or so was a bit of a worry, but we probably forget just how huge he was.

I think Jacko had the honour of being DELETED

Sad news though. He certainly was a talented performer. Pioneered a dance craze.
At least his songs are getting a run on SAFM this morning.

Please be a bit more tactful - and be reminded he was acquited of all charges he faced...thanks, The Mods

Forget his personal issues, he was probably the most influentiual musician/performer the world has ever seen and ever likely to be seen.....many memories growing up listening to his music.....a truely sad day

People are comparing this to Elvis, IMO there is no comparison....
