well thats what i was thinking... yet everyone seems adamant that he will take the job...

and because everyone seems so sure he will take the job... does anyone think any of the GC boys would go with him... as in players in the seniors this year or even lads in his 17's team that are in their last year (mills or molyneux)... anyone have any thoughts...

BL&G_Ump is there a feedback process in place for the umpires after each game? The two (cant remember names) that officiated the Sth vs Nuri game on Sat were absolutely disgraceful (agree LC?).

Villi - Not to hound on any game or anyone in particular, but I think there has been a lack of consistancy in some of the umpiring this year in general...

BLG_Ump - dont take this the wrong way, as I know clubs have the ability to discuss issues with the Umps at any time, but from a supporters point of view, there are games where the whistle blows and EVERYONE (players included) have no idea why the whistle went and whos free it may be!!

It seems the the downright obvious decisions are often missed, then a small 'tick-touchwood' call is made from nowhere.
I applaud the umps as it is a tough job, but they often dont make their lives any easier...

Im not suggesting it has favoured one team over another in any contests (yet I still believe some players NEVER seem to get kick and some ALWAYS seem to get kicks), and I dont think it has changed the outcome of any games, just be nice to see evryone (Players, Coaches, Umps and Supporters) all on the same page most of the time...

Hey, are you and LC officials? because the league's rule is that spectators opinion remains with the spectator. I didn't see this game, certainly heard about it and the major problems have been communicated... a senior supervisor watched this game and the perception of both clubs was off centre in regards to the free kicks that they expected to be payed... they too have admitted that they sometimes percieve what they see on tv as our rules, this isn't the case...

Any mor questions, please feel free to pm me

i think the umpires in the BL&G are the best in the state, u blokes should get out and have a look at some other comps and u will see just how good they are. the amateur league are very bad and u should also realize how lucky we are to have neutral umpires for every grade. they do a fantastic job and the junior programme they have is excellent

BL&G Ump appreciate what a tough and relatively thankless task you and your colleagues undertake each Sat. Certainly was good to see several younger guys amongst your ranks but they need education and feedback to ensure that they reach the high standard that has been set over the years. good to hear that there was a mentor on the side lines to help these guys improve. this makes their poor decisions easier to take.

BLG_Ump - All I was saying was from a supporters perspective / feedback around the grounds, I never said it was correct...

And on the "ticky-touchwood" subject, Im not saying that the calls are wrong at all, they are usually spot on, but then when a more obvious one is missed, it can be frustrating to watch...

I wasnt on to slag of the umps, As a part of my orignal post you didnt highlight was that I applaud the job they do!!!

I was asked an opinion, so I gave it. Its just an opinion, they are like arsholes, everyone has one, and none are right or wrong, they ar just OPINIONS!

Its great to see the league are mentoring their junior panel, its the best way too learn, and we all make mistakes, gauranteed players make more mistakes a day than umps, but thats all part and parcel with the game....

I actually enjoy when the game flows and the players are left to play....

Are there any late clearances trying to be squeezed in before June 30 that anyone is aware of????

Didnt Barossa have an import lined up for when Christie became a local?

[quote="Liquid Confidence"]Normo,

If its who I think it is, will the club take him back. I have heard rumours that he may not be welcome by ALL parties...

You're on the money LC.
I know all parties won't be thrilled, but he will be taken in. Time dims the memory of some of the misdemeanours and he has always been straight down the line as a bloke.

While on Gawler Central, Bova and Taylor to have MRI scans this Thursday.
As I reflected back on how I hesitated for a second before walking into the lion's cage carrying a leg of lamb, I thought to myself .......... I've got to do something about this lack of confidence.

Gday lads , this is my first post after a week of reading the wealth of knowledge SA Footy manufactures.

I am a former player in the BL&G and Amatuer League and have enjoyed catching up on the going on's within this comp.

Good to see Alex Kennedy kicking plenty at full forward , the classic type spearheads are a dying breed and having spent my career at full forward i would like to see more of the big guys get used in the goal square.

Cheers
