I'm a massive fan of cricket 07 Ashes edition on ps2.
Hopefully it will be able to top that.

Yeah I can't wait for it either, will be getting it for PS3 straight away. So often I am watching cricket on TV and hanging for a decent cricket game, perfect timing with the Ashes being played at the same time as well.

It better be good. I'm sick of cricket games where you smash every ball for six.

Yeh, lets loft a ball from outside leg via a cover drive over point for 6.

The game play is so so so so dodgy.

No thanks.

don't judge it from a video, judge it when you have played it.

Well lets be honest, the video is from the game, they arent going to re-design the game play in under a month before release date.

I've always had the same issue with all cricket games. Batting is never realistic. Hell neither is fielding or bowling.

The whole problem is that heaps of money is put into the FIFA, NBA and NFL games thus Cricket and AFL are just hashed together.

It's an Ashes game, but you can only play 2 Australian venues - the MCG and Gabba.

Also just read its based on the Brian Lara cricket game engine, with just graphical improvements. Big EWWWWWW.

Yep. Just as I thought. Typical slog every ball for six. The best one I ever player was Cricket 02. Cricket 07 wasn't bad but hell they're scraping the barrel now.

The Quantum of Solace one?
Is okay on 1 player, nothing too special and pretty simple.
Multiplayer only available online unfortunately.

I have that game as well and bloody hell is it tough. I have finally managed to suss out the submissions by doing as The Real Number 3 suggests but it is still very difficult. Against the boxers I can do alright but when guys take me to the ground I'm in strife.

Also there was a 'come and try' session in Melbourne on Wednesday night for the new Ashes cricket game and it sounds very promising, I will post a link to a review but apparently you can use a custom skin for the menu (Aussie colours for example)... and you can select the intro music... yes you can change it to Channel 9's wide world of sports music!
