...and it was great to see Toby Stribling back again playing in the Red and White. First time I've seen him out on the park since 2007, I reckon he has the potential of being a bloody top class player.

A moment I found funny but a couple of moron North supporters got infuriated by was when Gill went down injured and Central kicked a goal and one of the Gowans lads ran about 30 metres to a lone Gill on the ground and gave him a huge shove in the back and a mouthful, made me laugh but Gill didn't react.

Note to North fans who yell at players to "man up". That's not the game plan morons, they're supposed to be in a zone!

One idiot who always stands near up even claimed we lost the game because of the cheating umpires.

Toby's been great this year, he and some other players are completely different players under the new coach, in fact Toby got the only award against Sturt for his effort on Gum.

I stood with him for a lot of today, very funny man, had me in stitches for most of it. I don't recall him bragging last week about North and he's currently absent because he was banned for a month from this site.

Humble apologies
Apparently it was OK last week, but not this week
I didn't post the original reference-perhaps you could refer to the North v Brant Chambers post?

Though doggies won the game not much of a spectacle, i witnessed the most pathetic second quarter effort by two sides in forty years of watching football. Disgracefull football and we pay $10 a game to watch this rubbish.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good comment. It would be nice for coaches to stop auditioning for potential AFL jobs, and entertain the public for a change.

No, my comment was a general one, not necessarily directed at the two involved in this game. However, it does worry me that SANFL teams are beginning to adopt a similar style of play to the crap dished up in the AFL. If/when that happens, my footy watching days are over.

They would cart whoever (would have to be a trainer or runner or even player) off into the rooms first.

This reminds me (and I'm going way off topic here) of I think it was a Sturt official having a heart attack at three quarter time of the 1998 Grand Final. I remember it being mentioned during the telecast. What happened there, was that person ok in the end?

From a North point of view - all of our points in that quarter were "good" chances for goals, that if we had taken them would have probably thrown a different result or outcome on the game. Bad kicking is bad football so in the context of the quarter it wasn't pretty but I have seen worse. A couple of seasons ago at Richmond the halftime score was 2 goals to 1 - that was worse a half of football I have ever seen, let alone the worst quarter of football I have ever seen.

I wasn't one of them

I reckon I was one of them. Not unhappy with Central selecting him in the mini-draft at the time. Unhappy the Crows drafted him over looking other "proven" local talent. Now I'd like to retract that. Insert embarrased face here. After seeing the Henderson "kid" on Saturday, I believe there's a lot of talent there.
Though he made a couple of errors (as did both teams - many times), what I thought was most impressive was that he kept presenting, providing a forward target. He reminded me very much of Alan Obst. His leap and a couple of times when he threw out one hand was not disimilar to Jarred Brennan. A great debut.

It's because a group of us from The Roost sponsored him Snappy. The year before we sponsored Hargs.
We are the kiss of death and have subsequently decided not to ruin any other players careers with our sponsorship.

Wedgie we were stood right near the guy who had an attack in the stands and it just so happened we were looking in his direction when he stood up, clutched his chest and collapsed. Terribly distressing. He had his attack not very long into the quarter so that gives those of you a fair idea of how long it took to get his heart/breathing started again and I commend those people who worked so hard.
