That will add a bit of humour to the Fisher Cup - the tosser on the hill at Barmera will be on fire.

Wonder how many players don't make it out on the park tomorrow? Seems to be a bit of the old swine flu getting around. Every second person I speak to has got it. Hopefully half of Barmera's team has it.

Cobby
Ramco
Wunkar
Paringa
Brown's Well
Moorook
Lyrup
East Murray

Note to the RFL and footy clubs for this weekend's matches:

It is getting into the depths of winter. It is getting darker much earlier, making visibility hard for footballers, umpires and spectators. Turn on your lights at half time and use a yellow ball in the second half. Everyone will be the better off for it.

Sounds like a good idea to me, I’m pretty sure the RFL/umpires or both clubs would have to agree to the yellow balls tho?

I have found, in the last two games especially, that it has been rather dark.
I’m sure the spectators would also appreciate this

Anyone know any people in the media that could push the issue, perhaps in a newspaper?

Anyone at the Fisher Cup game on the weekend would have been impressed with Jake Smith's hanger in front of the home fans.

The poor lad than ran on and shot at goal from 40m and blazed it out on the full.

Great mark though.

yellow ball is a good idea, but another cost to clubs. might be ok for the big 6 to fork out for footys willy nilly but not too many indy clubs could afford 2 balls ber game
