I agree. The whole thing stinks of someone who wanted to be released from his SA contract so he can pursue a life lacking in discipline playing "hit and giggle" 20 over cricket.
I used to be an admirer of Symonds because he could have accepted instant Test selection in the English team, but opted instead to stay in Australia and work his way into the best cricket team in the world .. and it wasn't easy.
His attitude of late, however, is very disappointing. All those problems he had with the Indian crowds seem to be forgotten now he can earn $1.4 million just for hitting the odd 6 and bowling the odd over or two.

Perhaps if CA had some balls to support their player when that shite blew up and if the ICC could find theirs for once Andrew wouldn't have taken the path he has.....

Unless Gilchrist and Warne have been secretly playing somewhere other than the IPL in the last couple of years i'd say this is incorrect.
