Having watched the footy for a change- Port Lincoln have to go in Monday as overwhelming favorites.

Tipping Semmler for the Bampton.

So Maggies Cup today, and what a mess Centenary was this morning!

Can't wait for a great day of junior footy!

Before the first bounce, I've gotta tip Lincoln Districts.

The Magpie Cup is down to three sides (barring a miracle).

Eastern Eyre
Lincoln Districts
Lincoln City.

City play Mid West (who finished 4th), and Districts and Eastern Eyre quare off next.

Lincoln Districts win the 2009 Port Adelaide Magpies Cup after thrashing Eastern Eyre.

Mid West's Tasman Fitzgerald was player of the carnival, with Kris Lycett (Far West), Ben Sawford (East Whyalla), and William Roderick (Lincoln Districts) runners-up.

And with one night to go, the Sunday Sesh has been the best night of the 2009 Mortlock Weekend.

So GG, the Lincoln side minus 5 big name players gave you boys an absolute hiding. WTF? What an anti-climax.....That must be embarassing   I think it was a 73 point margin in the end. Great Flinders just looked under pressure the whole game, couldn't hit targets, could hold grabs. Was pretty disappointing really. I must take back my comments about the young owen lad, he played a prettygood game today and looked the part. Hyphen just looked like he is trying to be the new Billyo Roderick, Semmler worked hard like usual, Ross Campbell gave that Cudderfod character an absolute bath. HMiller was classy, Minya probably had 35 touches and majority were quality, Keatley was ok without starring. Castley kicked some easy goals, Scruff showed that he can play, Didn't see young Stolly all day then he got an EP invite????????(must have played well satdy.) Jericho was alright, MP can fill us in more. I think i've written enough

well done to port lincoln it would have been great to be a part of that team but maybe next year for me.
Great Flinders looked very ordinary without any key forwards. Even their good players were down.
I agree with Cragg-Sapsford comment, he even annoys the crap out of his team mates with his stupid comments on the field to opponents.
acockfromwayback the EP selectors must have been at ravendale because half the side is full of people who shouldn't be there. Cragg-Sapsford and Blacker didnt have a kick all weekend, Stoll WTF? he shouldn't have even made the PL side.
Semmler was clearly best for lincoln all weekend yet couldnt make the EP sqaud?
Well done to Zoomer, best coach on the EP

Well done to PLFL and to minya, keats, joey and muzz for making EP squad. Won't comment on semmler omission, but any criticism of JCS is made by fairly un-informed people. One of the best players I have seen pull on a demon jumper for the past 25 years, and rightly is a walk up start for EP duties. Best thing about him is he can talk the talk and more importantly walk the walk. Same consderation is also accorded to Blacker. These guys will never let you down when needed.

Will agree that Zoomer is an excellent interleague coach.

The Semmler omission just goes to prove the EP selectors know sweet FA bluestheboy and you know it! Happy to sit on the fence on that one aren't you. So consideration is given to players not performing like Blacker and Cragg because they have a reputation. Maybe the EP selectors should open their eyes and have a look at how much a better footballer Semmler is than Blacker.
Un-informed people ?? I played against him plenty of times and have heard the comment from a couple of his teammates who I know very well that he is a cocky person and makes stupid comments on the ground at times. I am not doubting his football ability as he is a very handy footballer at club level. Sitting on the hill I doubt you would even know what is going on on the ground.

No idea who you are lds, but your comments suggest that you definately haven't played alongside him. As for watching from the hill, spent most of last year in the coaches box so pretty comfortable with my original comment. As for your comment about him being a 'pretty handy player at club level'.....that suggest you haven't played against him much either. Dual premiership CHB, multiple EP and PLFL rep and only 22...bit better than handy.
Probably re-read the last sentence from my post about EP selection and that might add some insight into the semmler omission.
EP selection is pretty well sorted before mortlock, and consideration is given to guys who have perfromed at that level previously. Not even sure if muzza played mortlock, but got named in EP squad.

Apologies for the un-informed comment, should have said naive.

 saw the games on the weekend, have to say Semmler should have walked into the ep side.As far as the footy standard was concerned apart from the lincoln side the rest would get killed by any amateur div 3 side upwards.

A snippet from my earlier post lds, i never said hyphen couldn't play...i just stated he was trying to impose himself on the game probably a bit too keenly with several high bumps and the like.

And as to say Semmler being a way better footballer. Well thats to opinions to decide. Semmler: hard at it, great mobile utility that can play anywhere and succeed. Blacker: in and under tough nugget, level headed in and around contest and never shirking hard ball gets. Hyphen: possibly in-consistent? Wouldn't be playing EP if not deserving of it, i haven't seen enough of him to know. All three are totally different types of players and are individually important to the teams success. Semmler is an awesome player and definately should have got a gig before Stoll, Castley and Cuddaford just to name a few, but there is no point arguing over something that is already decided. LDS your attitude towards BTB is rank, respect your elders boy. :)
