who cares stampy, it didn't hurt central playing 3 games in 7 weeks (or whatever it was) when they went top, blokes with niggles etc can get them cleared up & when the program was given to the clubs to look at glenelg didn't have a problem, why do you my friend ? :? :?

I'm glad you see it my way Bayman. 8)
I, I, I ag, agr, agree wi, I agree with y, I agree with you Bayman.

As I have said before the best solution is get rid of these crap, meaningless trial games at the start of the season.Just have 24 games for the season and every team plays each other 3 times a season. ;)

That'd mean the minor round would have to be played over 28 or 29 weeks you realise?
With finals that'd make the season up to 33 weeks long and mean if the season started in mid March it wouldn't finish till the last weekend of October or you'd have to start the season mid February to finish it when it does now.
Great for us fans but a tad too and long and drawn out perhaps?

Agreed, just leave it as it is. How can you start a season without at least 2-3 trial games? :?

I think the draw does make a difference
ROUND 11 a case

Glenelg and Sturt played today [Monday]
Both have a 5 day break for this Saturdays games

NA V ST
GL V WA

Thats a disadvantage for GL + ST ?????????
WA + NA might have advantages ?

SOLUTION ??????
Why cant the sides that played today
ST V CD
GL V PA
Play each other in round 11
Games could have been

PA V ST
CD V GL

Those 4 teams play after a 5 day break this way

So you think Glenelg and Sturt can't possibly make the Grand Final then?

If you think either or both CAN make the Grand Final, then the draw doesn't matter.

If NA beats ST this week its an advantage for them in terms of finishing top 3 and the double chance

mal did you know that it is more than a yearly cycle then you wouldn't complain because it happens every year ;) ...eg central may play glenelg at glenelg twice in one year & the next year it's the other way round.....next year west will have 2 home games to 1 against glenelg (unless they have a night game at the adelaide oval but i doubt it)

= WA bad draw this year
= WA better draw if have 2 games v GL at Richmond or whatever they call that oval next time

So in essence there are advantages and disadvantages in the draw year by year

Given the club market's itself heavily on Friday night Footy, we were always going to endure a difficult patch at some stage, don't think we can blame the SANFL for honouring a request from the club.

Agreed, and the "draw" never bothers me. I just hold the opinion that if you are good enough, you'll make the Grand Final, no matter what the journey.

Remember 1984? Two games at the Pondarosa, and we were thumped both times ... but we still won the flag :)
