Yes it is an honour to play for your association but we have players coming up with niggling injuries again and its not fair on the association committee and players that would never get that opportunity to play that would want to have a crack.
Everyone has to be positive about the concept of association football, as a kid everyone wants to play, but as a senior its not as important.
If we have negative vibes and negative people about the concept, it will continue to be non appealing.
Im sure if we can get more hype about it and offer incentives to better players who perform on the day along with the state country selection concept we can still make the concept work.

And if they think they are they are kidding themselves...
For starters, ownership of the concept in the future comes from the juniors, yet from all reports nothing was done to get them to engage in the concept... Correct me if Im wrong, but apparently the treatment of the juniors by the association was a disgrace. The hills teams apparently all decked out in association jackets/jumpers, clearly visable and looking professional, BLG juniors not given a jumper or even a T-shirt, all turned up in casual clothes and unrecognisable. So they get a new pair of socks and shorts for training.... To go with that apparently the coaching staff were not even given anything to wear (jumper/jacket/shirt)....
Yet the amount of officials walking around... DOING NOTHING... wearing jumpers etc, disgrace....
Then you get to the seniors, if they are serious about the game, the U23 rule goes out the window... If a bloke hasnt made the grade by 23 they never will..... Then selection is an issue... A lot of players picked on name rather than form... Some seem to get a gig every year no matter how well they have been playing...
Then I was told they are still playing in those woolen jumpers... They must be kidding.... The association has enough coin to buy a new set every year let alone 1 new set since 1990.... If you want incentive, players get to keep their jumpers...
If what Im told is correct, I am glad I didnt waste my time and effort travelling down there to watch the rabble that respresented the league (on and off the field)!!!

while i can concur with many of your comments, it is bit rough to suggest the players and coaches were a rabble i am sure they all still did what was asked of them and no doubt would have wanted to win.

Well I said it a week ago, this result comes as no surprise.
Now the excuses will start coming out, unfortunately the competition can no longer officially claim to be the best country league in SA.
Until the side is picked on form, not on unwarranted reputation this will continue to happen.
If the juniors weren't kitted out in the correct apparel, this is a disgrace and someone should be banished into obscurity for such a ludicrous oversight/decision.
Let’s get back to the real stuff this weekend, while the pro-inter-league lobbyist’s sit there scratching their head for another year.

Could see some rather large scores this weekend....
Any news if players have come up from their "injuries":
Kennedy and his ankle - Tanunda
Valentine's knee (does anyone know the outcome here) - Kapunda
Hahn - Gawler Central - Not sure why he was a scratching
Baker - Willaston

I think Daysy has admitted that he/she did not know that there where 7 Tanunda players named (Kennedy probably out due to an ancle injury) despite the team being listed on this site before Daysy shot his/her mouth off. Even if 6 Tanunda players play it is a big effort by Tanunda and I would think Daysy would retract his/her comment that they are the Geelong of the BLG.
Skip - Prior, Kieboom & Schiller are all injured, Kieboom would not make it anyway but the other two would if they where alright, pretty sure both played last season.

Take that one on the chin Days should have checked to see that there where 4 on the bench not 3. Did watch Tanunda last weekend and I know that they had some big names on the sidelines but they are not as good as last season, hardly the Geelong of the BLG.
