Is Waylon Johncock making an appearance?

Was superb a few years ago. Worth watching

Waylon is playing, from what I've heard they will be taking this years Mortlock more seriously than last years debarcle!

I would love to see Port Lincoln or any league pick from four teams of players with that sort of socio-economic lifestyle or even population density and produce a competitive team at that carnival.

I reckon they must go into this with the mentality that they'll give it a crack but a realistic view that they would be a pretty rough chance to win a game, let alone the carnival.

I said this was happening and the situation is not pretty. So many shift workers in the squad. Not looking good.

Just spoke with Jim, apparently pulled a side of 21, but yeah, not expecting great things...

what do you think about the pathetic attitude of your permiit holders, especially one having played in the winning kinlough team last year??
when i heard this i thought to myself 1. why would these players want to play that grade and
2. why the hell did they get the permits??
BW is clearly a talented player and could EASILY get a game in B grade
as for TH he played in the kinlough team last year!! bit of an injustice when the side you played last week, brings up a 14 year old who has to stand both on the wing??
obviously the days are gone when permits are only used when it clearly disadvantages the team to have this player playing in there side??
rather pathetic 18 year olds would rather run around with kids and think they're tough??
Didn't the permit rule get changed a few seasons back? All 18yo's get a permit, but can't play a's and 17's on the same day iirc. Think there is also a set number of A grade games played and permit is revoked. All teams use the rules differently, dependent on how much they value their A grade fielding their best side.

The "18 year olds getting a permit" was a one-year thing, because of the grade change from under 14's to under 15's, no players were going from that grade, up to under 17's, while the older under 17's would have gone to League and Reserves footy, thus meaning the under 17's had a massive shortage of players.

The rule where they were only able to play either under 17's or League/Reserves was absolute crap, IMHO.

Under the current permit rule, if a player is on a permit to play in the under 17's, then he cannot play in Reserves or League football, otherwise he loses the permit- if he plays in a higher grade whilst on a permit, then the higher grade is considered a forfeit, as they are playing an unqualified player.

exactly right Mp, it was a one year thing to deal with number shortages. now it seems permit's are being given out toany player who wishes to play that is slightly small, let alone ability, performance or ability to improve. is it not my thoughts that when a permit player kicks three goals from a wing and in named consistently in best, wouldn't the permit be revoked?? the league is handing out permits like bumholes.

Kane-o pulled out? Pity, he must be working surely. Can party. We hit up the Tasman together on the Sunday night a few years back. Ended up staying up most of the night. Lol.

You can hand out bumholes???

I don't think there has been any issue with the permit players. Imagine one of those lads from Tassies getting lined up by Billy'o! Another season in juniors won't kill them. They'll get a bit bigger, and a bit more confident, and they, and their club, will be a lot better in the long run.

As for being in the best every week, there's a guy in CMH's under 17 side on a permit who I think has been BOG twice, and is always up there- these guys aren't game breakers...

There's a Boston under 13 lad on a permit who is an absolute gun- except that he's tiny!

Every different scenario has to be looked at individually.
