I agree that some of his word gags took too long to set up, but he's bloody witty and his satirical delivery has great comic timing. I'm not sure that this particular programme is the best vehicle for his talents, but he is very good at his craft.

WTF? I wasn't a big fan of Full Frontal but there's all that stuff, The Micallef Programme which ran for three seasons on the ABC is some of the funniest televison that has ever been produced, Welcher & Welcher was a bit ordinary, Micallef Tonight on 9 was hilarious for how much he used to take the piss out of 9, his guests & Kerry Packer until Packer ripped it off the air (who could forget Micallef live on air ringing up the Channel 9 complaints dept to complain about the show not being any good) and of course Newstopia on SBS which I think was probably his best work and which ran for three pretty successful seasons on SBS. He did make a mistake leaving SBS for the likes of Ten and this stupid quiz show.

Seriously do yourself a favour and go and get on DVD Micallef In A Box (all three seasons of the Micallef Programme), The Expurgated Micallef Tonight or The Incompleat Micallef (his stuff on Full Frontal).

LMAO. While you are out buying that one for the Boonster you might as well throw in a copy of the 2007 AFL Grand Final ha ha.

Yep, and Shannon Noll has had 2 number 1 hits. Doesn't make it right though.

was very funny in the last segment where the host... said now these contestants need to start the lawnmower.. then..... blah blah blah.... then when the competition began and the contestants began starting the mowers he says "don't worry there's no petrol in the mowers" - just as the mowers started....WTF!!!! how can they be started if there is no fuel in the tank ....

Don't mind this show and think Micaleff has warmed up too the hosting duties nicely. They were all a bit stiff early on but I'm finding the show quite entertaining now.

Certainly more entertaining than the usual 100th repeat of a bought in American sitcom that usually graces that timeslot.

I'm another in the minority with you Strawb. Love the show and I don't know why. Hate the Josh guy but Pickering more than makes up for him.

Since my previous post have watched the show a couple of more times and its starting to grow on me. Have always found Micaleff quite funny, especially back in the days of full frontal when he did the David McGhan, Milo Kerrigan and Fabio stuff.
Trust the process.

My first reaction was that it would be culled after 1 week. But it's grown on me too. I think if it was on the ABC they could afford to edit it down to a pacy 1/2 hour. I have always been a Micaleff fan so I am happy for him.

Like Spicks and Specks you can play along at home which I think is the appeal. S & S is better though.

Agree with that Hondo, S & S is better, wish they would make that a bit longer though, the half hour seems to go so quick.
