The demise of the Scud

Postby dedja » Sun May 31, 2009 1:13 pm

Was reading the article on Mark Philippoussis http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/stor ... 01,00.html and my first thought was ... who cares?

He didn't make the most of prodigious talent, pissed his fortune ($8M+) on women and cars, and now wants us to feel sorry for him.

Am I being too harsh on the man?
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

i have real trouble feeling sorry for people who've lived the privileged life.

Pat Cash years ago came out and said he was suferring depression. Sorry bloke(s), can't feel sorry for you (even though they most probably don't want sympathy).

Best of luck, but as we all thought, his career was going to come to a premature end, so his pi$$ing his money away was never going to be a clever option.

A normal person would put some of their money in a bank account of some sort or in shares or something.

yep he will have to find a real job like the rest of us. maybe one of the channels might pick him up and a commentator.

Remember a few years back 60 minutes did a doco on a guy that won lotto, think it was 10 million or something and he blew the lot and now lives in a 1 bedroom flat on centre link payments. Think from memory he put all his money into an olive tree farm and it went pear shaped and he lost his wife and family.

FFS if i had that money i would bank at least half of it if not more and then if things went wrong i would have something to fall back on.

No.
'Celebrities' who piss away their fortune deserve all the derision and contempt that comes their way.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Hopeless tennis player, thinks he is a hero, thinks he is a pimp.

I think he is a loser.

Hope he suffers.

Is he actually asking for anyone's sympathy?

Obviously the media have got wind of the property foreclosure, seen the story in it, and contacted him. The article says the Scud was responding to them "asking about the action", rather than him trying to make a story out of it himself. Blame the media for making a story of it if your issue is why do we need to know?

He's been asked the question and told them he's in a financial mess. Honest answer to an honest question. He's not the first and won't be the last.

But, hey, feel free to use the opportunity to rubbish the bloke

So cause Pat Cash led the "privlidged life" you wont feel sorry for him cause he suffers depression?

Nothing beats Todd Woodbridge going on radio a couple of months ago to complain about not getting a $900 stimulus payment!
