what advantages would the GSCA teams have for joining the SCA? also you are taking away 2 of the top 4 sides from last year, in Mclaren and Willunga, which would only bring down the level of GSCA!

GSCA would be mad to change otherwise we could see the same fate as SCA if the those teams leave it would only leave Compass,Enc BAY,Goolwa ,Myponga<for how long going on past history>and maybe Rapids 5 team A grade would not work with the possibillity of Myponga not filling an A grade in a couple of years and Rapids maybe the same would ruin the comp, and i know people will say every club must fill an A grade but try to say that to Victor,Yank and Port Elliot as much as they would love an A grade they just would not get one as there juniors that they do have are not good enough and all there good players are just too old for A grade and would not enjoy playing and you will soon see players giving the game away and we all dont want this

Why would the GSCA bother with a merger ?
They seem to have a healthy competition numbers wise and are in the box seat to refuse/accept any clubs wishing to join their comp.

The SCA CAN sort it's stuff out, but if a another club leaves or folds then the numbers are just too low for a suburban competition.

Please dont assume that i would really want this to happen.
Our comp is the strongest and one of the best going around. (IMO)
I dont wish to change anything but i am a fan of cricket in the whole, this includes kids and the future of all cricket.
The throw away line was meant to open peoples eyes that there are more options than letting other teams join what is so great, and that i helped to build (GSCA).
I would be interested to see the letter of intention to nominate from Noarlunga, as some one has denied it exsits according to SCA thread.
I guess all will be revealed at assoc meeting on 25 th of this month.

rockyb not 100% sure of this but from what blokes like WIW24 have said Rob's decision to leave was based more around travel, im told the bloke lives at payneham, thats an hour and bit drive to a home game. can unstand if he pulled the pin for travel reasons.

im told it was raised at the commitee meeting the other night that subject of bonus points came up?? my opinion i would love to see them go, would give a much truer indication on who the better sides are as with the bonus points system you can gain massive points from a couple of big wins. doesnt really reward a steady consistant effort in my opinion. would also help in player retention if once the game was over both captains could come to an agreement and walk off and have a beer instead of chasing leather for the rest of the afternoon with no side really getting anthing out of it.

anything else to come out of the meeting??

I agree bonus point system should go alot lot of sides over the years have done very well out of this system around finals time play sides at the bottom of the ladder and getting easy outright win as some sides when they have had a long hard year just dont give a crap and lie down ,on a 35 deg day i would rather be having a beer from 3 30 instead of 6 30

With Vale was told by one of there players that Rob left mainly to do with things going on mainly Captains and Prez at the club but until you hear this from Rob nobody really knows

On my more serious not how can any one ever have an issue with the president of Mc Laren's, correct me if I'm wrong isn't it Ken Richards.

What are fine example of a leader on and off the field. he's keeping the canteen and bar in buisness all on his own, aswell as his fine examples of sportsmanship to the young future hopefulls coming through the c grades.

Interesting to hear about the Mclaren stuff, i know rob left due to travel reasons, it was not personal problems wit the club coz most of them are his family there! Interestin to here the WIW is on his way out, if so gud luck to him, Mclaren have a gud bunch of young lads and they will be fine with a few exits. have heard that willunga may have a couple retiring!

It will be a shame to see you exit WIW24 but mclaren have got alot of good young kids to take your place. All the clubs have gotta be mindful of bringing on the youth also , as currently the best cricketers around are in the 30-40 age group.

It is only going to be a learning curve for a few younger lads, and Mclaren have been up there for the last few years, so they may have a lean year or two while their young lads mature a bit, however will not be easy if they loose a couple experienced guys. Any rumours going around about people leaving clubs are clubs gaining players?
