just getting sketchy reports thru that Western Bulldogs and brisbane won today.
Also Willunga got beaten by LIMBS' mob in the 'B' grade. Creeks also won the senior colts.

Cant enlight u on any other GSFL scores.

Maggies lost! Wasn't at the game myself, but reports throughout the day had McLaren up 5.2 - 2.2 at 1/4 time, Maggies in front 5 minutes into the third 13.5 - 9.5. From there i understand McLaren ran over the top of GPE to get up by about 5 goals.

Details may be a little wrong, but that is my reports from throughout the day

McLaren have had a quiet few drinks to celebrate Libber's (luke Neill) birthday. The bloody Wilson girls cleaned up on our new fund raising efforts, and the young Hill Boys showed how much they like winning....or rather don't like losing. Two of our senior players Dave and Dave had a close up look at some of our past McLaren Flat premiership sides.

The yetti is off to his cave to have big sleep, after a big day at Goolwa. Yep we got up in the A's, B's and 17's and Goolwa won the 14's.
Sorry Goolwa people I drank some water out of the river and it dropped another couple of inches...I did replace it at Currency Creek as I strolled back to Kuipto, ...after i had Syphoned it through the Kidneys and Liver.

LF, what has happened to the fairy tale story at goolwa.... a tight loss to victor, and two beltings from the dees and creeks and now mclaren in an upset just to rub salt on the wound....ouch! understandable that there are a couple of outs but i think most clubs are in the same situation - 6 and 3 at the half way mark would have looked much better! will the lads get together and do something about a season that did look like a positive turn around from the past couple of years...

Good games at Goolwa yesterday.

I think that Goolwa have created a really good 'day at the footy' and added to the atmosphere with thier PA system, and that it would be good to see other clubs do similar/the same thing.

Loved the idea of promoting the sponsors during the breaks - whoever thought of this needs a big pat on the back.

With the playing of the music through the PA system, I think this especially was good during the half time break of the A grade game.....And from feedback I heard, I think most of the boys enjoyed doing their warm ups to the music as well.

It was a big day at the victor oval yesterday and the events of the day seemed to get into our sides game a bit too much for the first half and we played very average, after half time we settled down and played to our plan and played alot better. Was good to get the win infront of the past players and set the party off for the nights events. The bays need to have a good look at what they are doing, the coach is twat and the players I spoke to said they wish he would F off! No one listens to him and it seems like they coach them selves and tell him what they are going to do, Blum was up to his usal tricks and trying to hit people dirty and thinks he is a hero for belting people half his size. Dale Ellis tought him a football lesson, then when Blum went into ruck Sammy J was all over him with ease.

Correct, unfortuntley these blokes PLUS a few more other handy players didnt play. Could have done with them on the day but all credit to langhornes, they play a hard style of footy that got them over the line in the end. Was a great game that went right down to the wire.
Theres still a whole half of the season yet to play and looking at some of the results from yesterday its anyones time to shine.

Seems we have lost the passion. Even yesterday Yeoy got cleaned up after a mark, we got the 50m penalty and the goal to go 4 up in the 3rd but there was no real excitement. The most disappointing thing is the fact that I dont reckon McLaren even played up to their potential and they won by 5, but when your team cant win a clearance it makes things tough. We have now dug ourselves a hole which will be hard to get out of and they way we are going Bays will be massive test with the way they have improved, where as 4 weeks ago we would have considered it a percentage booster. If there was any brightside it would be the fact that the team that we are fielding is actually not any better on paper than the 08 team, so to be 4-4 is not bad effort.

we have been patchy this year last week against victor we were terrible for 3 quarters and yesterday i thought we were a bit ordinary in the second, but when we have a young side that is going to happen. i do think our fitness was the difference yesterday, although broughts and dave kahl were awesome in middle

teamwork, just because he crunched you when you where near the ball doesnt mean it was dirty. if you dont like it then play in the b grade, and dale ellis has schooled alot better players than blummy in his time so dont hold that against him, and alot of it had nothing to do with blummy. some of the delivery from hodge and co. out of the middle was superb. i dont think we are as bad a people think, you (in my opinion the second best side in the comp) outscored us by 7 goals in the 3rd quarter and that was the final margin, apart from that 30 mins of footy in the 3rd we were more than competitive.

Enjoyed a good day at Goolwa.
Facilities improved, crowd was good and atmosphere enjoyable and weather sensational until the sun went down.
Both very young sides. I thought Goolwa worked well when going forward, however their defensive work was a bit below par.
Umpire Pope had an unenviable task, against his old club for the first time. We thought he did well LF...what were your thoughts?

so much hype around the Game of the round between willunga and creeks but no reports back yet? What were every bodies thoughts on the game? you would have though willunga would have had it won hitting the lead with about 3 minutes to play but one "un disciplined?" decision from a willunga player to snap the footy around his body outta defense, ending up as a mark 35 m out 45 degree angle, ended up costing a goal and basically as the umpire balled it up from the centre the siren sounded. Hard slog all day great game

Not saying this because i know popey, but he is clearly the best umpire available for A Grade games. Lets the game flow, talks to players, explains decisions, listens to positive and negative feedback. Yesterday he was good, in fact i didnt notice him, the other bloke was useless. i know he had a chat to Steve Hill about him umpiring us and Steve didnt mind one bit.
