This could be a very interesting game, the dogs have a few injury concerns with some key players, so we might see some new faces in the line up along with some not too bad footballers to welcome back aswell in Hayes, Havelberg and Callinan ;) .

I really enjoy going to woodville oval, its good for the kids to run around, and the games between these 2 sides are always entertaining.

With a few injury worries i will say dogs by 22pts.

Centrals have had a bad run with injury in recent weeks and could have a few changes for this weeks game, including players coming back into the side as mentioned above.

Heard a whisper that co-captain Matty Slade jagged a hamstring at training on saturday morning and will also be out of this game so it could be a good opportunity for the Eagles to pounce. We know what they did to the Dogd in the corresponding game at Woodville last year.

With both captains out for the Dogs this week in Thomas and Slade, I think it will be the first time that Jason "Buckets" Mackenzie will lead the side as he is the club vice captain.

At this stage, Centrals by 4 goals for me.

If true about Sladey it will make this game very tough for the Dogs and may force Laird to bring in a couple of players sooner than he would have liked.

One would expect McKenzie and Cicolella to come in for the Eagles and they will be looking to bounce back from a couple of awful results.

Ath this stage, Eagles by 4 points.

For me this will be a very hard game for the eagles to win .
The captain should be back but will Cica and Cheep get recalled for me they are a must .Plus i think its the week all the receivers get dropped back to the seconds and the hard ball gets players come back in.sorry to sound like Holden(no offence meant holden)but that appears to be what's happening to some of us fans.
For me ins should be
Cica
Cheep
Then
Dawson could lift the forward line goal scoring (seeing trent is injured)
Rimington has earned a recall .
Fairclough must be due back as an in and under player.
Fiacchi must be close to coming back.

One would think McKenzie will be a definate in this week. If Passador is fit do we rush him back into the league or should he have a run in the 2's. Rimmington and Cheep should also be inclusions maybe even Fitzgerald perhaps.

At this stage, I think there may be 3 or 4 unsettling changes to the Dogs line up that makes me a tad worried about this game...

INS: Callinan, Havelberg, Hayes, Allocca

OUTS: Thomas (finger), Slade (hammy), Duncan (hammy), M.Westhoff (Power)

Not 100% sure whether Westy will go to the Power but it may be a chance ???

How sure are we Westy will play for the power? It wouldn't surprise me if he played this week against the eagles.

Not 100% sure but I did read or hear that he was going to play in Sydney but didn't end up.

I think he may be a chance to go in, they are obviously looking closely at him after his 5 goals against the Maggies the other week.

I suppose if Westy does go the Power and Dan Havelberg comes back from his hammy, there is a like for like player there selected.

I guess with the possibility of Andrew Hayes playing his first league game for 2009 is a bit of coverage for that as well, especially if Justin Hardy doesn't play as he has had some doubt with a thumb injury.

I can't see the Eagles getting close, especially if they pick a handful of inexperienced players again. I hope I'm wrong though, I said the same before the Glenelg game.

All Eagles supporters were saying exactly the same thing this time last year and your mob came out and pumped Centrals by 80 odd points...

I would not be suprised at all if Centrals come away from Woodville Oval on Saturday afternoon having their first loss for season 2009...

As much as I would love seeing the mighty Eagles triumph over the Dogs .I simply think it will be very hard for this side to do that at present .
BUT if RON and Co actually get the team selection/balance correct then we could win.I watched the Norwood v Centrals game with interest and Norwood failed by a finger nail to pull of a miracle .
Centrals can be beaten .
Eagles could pull it off if RON selects the correct on ballers. With the correct mix of players that get in and get the ball. And then those that receive the ball from the packs .
Plus a revamped forward line is needed, we need a body who knows how to play FF(for the entire game) .We can not play Jacky, hicks and Lane all in the forward line at the same time .
We must find places for Dawson ,Rimington,Cica,Cheep,Fiacchi .
Eagles keep the faith get the selection/ balance right and we can push the league leaders. But we need to do it for 4 quarters not for 10 minutes here and there .
Cheers

the named teams will be crucial in this match, logic says central but the eagles do play woodville oval very well & i think given they pick a decent side to play on the park they'll get up.....besides hasn't central started the extra training to prepare for the finals ?
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
