What a log jam at the top of the ladder, gee its a good year of footy how ever wins this year will deserve it thats for sure. This week Lofty taking on Hahndorf, 1 Vs 2 by the smallest percentage margin should be an absolute ripper. Get there should be the game of the year!

Just to let you know, Lobethal had 8 recruits not playing because of injuries, or so i've been told. If they can get all of these guys on the track I think they'll certainly compete with the likes of Ironbank. I highly doubt you'll see Loby go down.

In HFL league history, has any team ever admitted to just losing a game with a full team on the park in a match they maybe should have won , without having 'injuries' or 'Norwood' or 'work commitments'?

Gee whizz, you Ironbank blokes get defensive pretty quickly, you're the second bloke that's had a crack at my comment. I was merely trying jump to the defence of a team who in the middle of a seriously long losing streak and just got pumped by the second worst side in the comp. Guys on here are saying they should be demoted back to the country div and i'm just attempting to say that i don't think all is quite as bad as it may seem. It's your first win of the year...so don't get too arrogant! Plus, I don't even play for the tigers.

My club went through this only 2 years ago and we were inches away from pulling the pin, Callington are in the same boat now. Now im not saying Lobethal's situation is that bad but surely even just a couple of years back to regroup isnt such a bad thing.
The attitude of the Lobethal Football Club towards some of the "smaller" clubs in the area has been one of contempt in recent times and I for one am not sad to see them in their situation.

Shortman, good to see that Gum's are getting some wins on the board and playing competitive football this year... when things were at there worst, in your opinion did gums ever seriously look at the option of a merger with birdwood? or perhaps what couldve been more of a birdwood take over?

I reckon any side with 8 key players out due to injury can legitimately use that as a "reason" for underperforming. Mick Malthouse even said it a few weeks ago and if it's good enough for an AFL team then surely it's even more valid for Hills Footy. Reasons and excuses are different.
There are reasons each week for why a team won or lost and having 8 better players out is a reason why they got pumped.
