I'm still amazed Cooney won the Brownlow as I honestly doubt if he'd make Geelong's side full stop! He certainly wouldn't get a gig in front of Ablett, Chapman, Bartell, Selwood, Corey, Enright, Ling, etc. :?

Cooney's underdone mate, IMHO fit and healthy he most certainly would get a gig among that group

That's you're opinion mate, IMHO he wouldn't get close but he would get a gig if he we had a few injuries.
Lucky for him he doesn't get a gig in that group otherwise he wouldn't get close to winning a Brownlow.
I must admit though despite seeing a lot of the Bulldogs last year I haven't seen much of them this year.
I was actually suprised when I realised late in the 2nd quarter he was playing today.
Ablett was underdone after a rest too, but he's not Browlow quality and only racked up 38 important stats in the winning side. ;)

It might be unfair on Cooney but he's not half the player Ablett is nor is he as good as player as most of Geelong's midfield yet he'll win a Brownlow and all bar Bartel wont simply for the fact they're in a great side. That's not right.

So you'd prefer Cooney in your midfield to Selwood or Ablett then?

LOL you can gloat all ya like mate, I don't follow the Dogs or Cooney  .. Ablett is the best player going in the game at the moment, I don't think too many would disagree with that, but Cooney had a great year last year too (and agreed, less competition among teammates for votes) and is a high quality player.

Not gloating at all and I take offence that you'd suggest that.
Mind you I do have no idea as I wouldn't have Ryswyk in North's team of this century either, feel free to pass that one onto Topsy as he'll be stoked Ryswyk was deemed to be in North's best side of this century as I know he's a big fan.

Not kidding at all mate, the Bulldogs are my 2nd side and Acker is my fav player going around, truth be known I wouldn't have minded seeing the Bulldogs win for Acker as a loss doesn't mean anything to Geelong as we'll be Top 2 no matter what and winning by 2 was no difference to losing by a couple, truth be known Geelong were crap and I can understand the coach's comments on Mooney after the game.
If Im going to gloat I'd do it over one of Geelong's usual 10 goal victories, not a game they were very lucky to win.
Doesn't change my opinion on Cooney though, a very good average player, not his fault the Brownlow is a joke though and good luck to the kid who came from a couple of torpedos away from my place, he's making the most of what he's got.

No but he is certainly equal if not better than Kelly, Wojac, Varcoe and would give Enright and co a push when up and going. Was poor last night but had a poor pre season and personally i think you are under selling him a little bit. Is a very good player.

Can anyone tell me why a free was paid when Gamble got knocked out? Sure he smashed his head on the ground and ended up in hospital but having watched it several times i still can't understand how there was an infringement. He certainly didn't mark the ball.

I think the mark was paid.

Dubious yes, but the umps tend to pay the ones where a player brings the ball to ground (with reasonable control) only to see it spill on impact.

Interesting game last night, geelong struggled as I predicted, there FNF form if you look back thru the records is less than impressive (despite them winning)

At the same time I didnt think the Bullies played that well either and have plenty of upside....I think their game plan of being handball based to break the Cats zone worked pretty well and expect to see more of this against the Cats, the Bullies were fansastic in getting tackled but still having the hands free to get the handall away

Yep, the mark was rightly or wrongly paid, not sure if a free kick can be paid for 'tunelling' though.

id be fairly confident that if the cats were to play the dogs again - in a final this year the result will be a clear win to the cats

some interesting matchups from the cats perspective

According to Steve Rosich no player had come into contact with the person but they have been briefed by the health department. Someone from their admin team was in close proximity to the passenger in question and is receiving advice from medical staff.
