Yes. Not for a few years though

Very hilly and they struggle for water so the fairways and greens suffer.

They are called Club handicaps MT. You only have to submit 3 cards to gain a club handicap. Or it used to be.

To get an Australian Handicap 5 cards must be submitted in a 12 month period

i did 5 cards for a handicap about 3 yrs ago now.......

must get back into the swing of things for the summer months

The course still exists.

Drummond golf were recently advertising you could get up to a 12 months free membership to play there if you paid to become a Drummond club member which is only $35 for 12 months.

same here at the time the max handicap was 32, its always better to start off down there and work your way up - it also helps in winning comps ;)

Have played Galwer a few times now and always find it a lovely, but tough, course. Greens would have to be some of the slickest going around and there are some long holes as well.

Am playing there with a mate on Sunday before my heading down to play Mt Compass the weekend after with my social club.

Played Flaggy on Friday, havent played there for 12 months, the fairways seemed to have suffered in the hot summer, still pretty good but a bit patchy, greens were the fastest Ive ever experienced before though, cut very short and seemed like they had been rolled. The 2nd is out of play as the fairway is being reshaped, you play the 1 &1/2 hole instead

I enjoy the variety of the course, a mix of straight and doglegs, flat and hilly holes, 5 par 5's, 5 par 3's

The lake on the 7th has been doubled in size, presumabley to ensure the club has its own water supply

I am playing Mount Compass on Sunday with my social club, a tough course but one I enjoy playing...

Anyone had a hit there lately that could fill me in as to the condition of the course ? I would assume quite green with recent rains...

Played at Kooyonga yesterday morning, course in good nick, the fairways were magnificent, greens OK (but never brilliant there for some reason) bunkers were great, they always seem to have just the right amount of sand in them to make getting out as easy as it can be.....

personally I had a shocking front 9, shooting 48 only hitting one fairway and that was the 6th when I used an iron...then hit 4 fairways in a row on the back nine and it certainly helps the score when you put it on the short stuff, was going well only 3 over on the back 9 coming to the 17th when my drive just failed to get over the fairway bunker lip, then proceeded to do a Wayne Grady and overshoot the green and took a 7....ended up with a 43 on the back and 91 overall

The club house looks pretty impressive, but talking to some members they arent that impressive with it, they like the "crustiness" of the old one!

yeah I played the pat friday and was nice

played sandy creek or gawler golf club yesterday and I like it, had a few tough holes and some nice ones also
greens were reasonably fast!
also had a few tricky hole where there was water round the greens that you couldnt see, so for someone like me that had never played there before, nearly lost a ball or 2!

Since Peter Ormsby has taken the reins at Adelaide Shores, the improvements all over the place are first class. He's finally got the "West Beach Trust" to realise what they've actually got at their feet and they have financed it accordingly, a way to go yet but the course is improving week by week and apart from those who don't know how to look after the bunkers or are just too bloody lazy, the place is magnificent given the traffic that uses it. Well done to all concerned, I'm proud to be a member at Westward Ho.
