Have of course got her supporting the Dogs but the very first game I took her to was the 2007 Grand Final and because North Adelaide are red and white (the colours of Poland) she wanted to support them.

I told her that we may have some relationship issues if she didn't support Centrals but she stuck to her guns, at least until after "her" team were pumped by 10 goals (sorry North fans) by the Centrals juggernaut she changed her tune pretty quickly.

Then in the victory lap by the players, she couldn't help but get "involved" with the celebrations and much to my suprise, when I turned to the side, there she is hugging and kissing the Gowans twins and getting a happy snap taken. Now she loves them and comes to most Centrals home games and cheers on the boys !!

She was drawn in by Chris and James' charismatic ways ( ;) ) I reckon, but that's part of the reason why I love her and will make her my wife in August ;)

Great story big fella, but if I were you, I wouldn't invite the Gowans' to the wedding, could get nasty!

;)

Her brother used to pretend to be David Granger, and make her be Cornesy  so hence she hates the Maggies !!

She follows Carlton in the AFL too for the same reason that I do (Steve Kernahan).

The kids have no choice. Glenelg / Carlton / Adelaide United / Derby County.

nice photo of her in your avatar by the way ...

Mate, stupid me agreed to get married in footy season (late August) and unfortunately the day / night of my wedding the Dogs will be facing off against Sturt under lights at Elizabeth. :(

I've already pi$$ed off mate off that plays footy, he has to miss out on his game now that weekend. I'm pretty sure Lairdy wont excuse the Gowans boys just to attend my wedding. :D

Trust me though, I have a plan in place. I will have my wireless radio on at the reception getting score updates from the 5RPH broadcast, just haven't told the missus that bit yet ;)

My wife was already a Doggies supporter when I met her. I don't think I could have stuck with her this long otherwise ;)
Although her father was horrified when we got together (16 years ago yesterday) when he found out I was a Centrals player, was playing under age at the time, as he remembered what young footballers got up to when he was young.
Our daughter was made a member of the CDFC the day she was born and I got a photo of her in the premiership cup last season. I'm eternally delighted my daughter was born in a premiership year - made it all the more sweeter for me.

In the AFL, I'm a Pies man and the missus is a Crow and never the twain shall meet.

My wife lived near Unley Oval when we met, and had grown up in the Port area in a Port fanatic family, but had never been to a football match in her life.
Football at Unley was just something that made it hard for her to get to her weekend ballet classes.
Late in her life she showed some interest in the Power, out of family loyalty.

Mrs Bosvit is a sturt girl but does not like going to the footy.

I talk her into going to a Bloods V DBlues match every year or two, and although she has won all of them it just reminds her why she doesn't like it. Last time at unley one of the blues fans made a complete turkey of himself, abusing every bloods fan that came near, so much so other blues fans appologised to us.. (don't worry we all have them) but it didn't help convince Mrs Bosvit to come to more games.

Thankfully Bosvit Jnr #1 loves the bloods and comes to every game while bosivt Jnr #2 converted to Sturt after our 4th spoon (he's only 7 you can't blame him really) all of a sudden he is a Bloods man again even if he doesn't want to go to the footy this year....

Mrs. Strawbs had not one bit of interest in SANFL football when we moved back to Adelaide a few years ago. She went to a Westies game and supported them ever since. My lads are Westies members and been to one game. They love wearing their Westies jumpers on Saturdays when the bloods play and know the logo. Not bad for a pair of twins liviing in Werribee and will proberly live all their lives in Victoria.

Well done Strawb ! We live in Melbourne and my daughter loves the Bays and every game day runs around the house with her black and gold beanie and scarfe yelling out " Go Bays " ! These Victorians don't know a thing about The Bays, The Bloods or that Rick Wakeman was in " The Strawbs " ? :?

Keep the faith !
