Home finals is a concept worth exploring, would be great to see.

With over a third of the ground unavailable, then add in the logistical issues it cant be at the Oval this year

What logistical issues are they?

Coaches, Stats, Players, Officials, Media, PA system - all relied on the old stands that are no longer available.

Not to mention SACA have said they can still cater for 18k, what if Centrals, Glenelg, Sturt & Norwood/North are the teams playing in a double header? could easily get over 18k and the venue would be too small, imagine a lock out!

Plus the asthetics of having the crowd around the whole ground...

Also the football changerooms were in the Edwin Smith stand. Whilst they did use the indoor cricket rooms for the Anzac day game, that took out half the bottom tier of the Bradman Stand, with a walkway to the top tier being cordoned off as a players race.

Considering the substandard conditions offered to Centrals and Glenelg (and the supporters) that day, I can't see the SANFL giving Adelaide Oval being given the green light for finals.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Play the finals at the home grounds of the teams who DON'T make the finals. Neutral for all.
Noarlunga
Alberton
Norwood
???????could be either Richmond, Woodville or Prospect on current form.
Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.

Couldn't think of anything worse than watching an SANFL final at Noarlunga

I can as I have to go there in June or July on a Friday night to watch 10 year olds play!

Now that we've had the litmus test game which the SANFL has stated will help determine whether Adelaide Oval will be an appropriate venue for the finals, does this change the thinking above?

There are already some negative posts about last night and for mine, after being there, I can't see Adelaide Oval being used if we are serious.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Neutral grounds for finals. If not Adelaide or Footy Park, the league should look at the possibility of Thebarton, Norwood or Prospect - all fairly central to the city and can all hold the 12,000 - 15,000 which appears to be the size of crowd which may be expected.

Yes, I agree. Initially I voted for limited Adelaide Oval, but after last night I've changed my mind.
