That is true. but he would be better than Krejza, Hauritz and all the other poo bowlers we have......

Horry bowled well in the One dayers and i think he has improved out of sight, he will do ok in the ashes

Would have thought North is a certainty to at least start the Ashes in the 6 spot. Those guys will be putting pressure on him although i reckon there is more pressure on M. Hussey if he doesn't make runs in the first couple of Tests in England.

I would expect North to be in that number 6 position. If he makes way for either of those players then its crap.

Phillip Hughes might possess Test and first-class averages nudging 70, but he still admits to nerves on the eve of Australia's Ashes squad announcement. Hughes will be confirmed as Simon Katich's opening partner when Andrew Hilditch names the 16-man touring party on Wednesday, but is loath to pre-empt the selectors' decision. (from cricinfo)

He's got nothing to worry about!!

Not about the squad, but the Ashes (from cricinfo)

Tim Nielsen, the Australian coach, predicts England will play to its strengths and prepare turning pitches this summer, but does not believe the issues surrounding the troubled first Test strip amount to doctoring. Just seven weeks prior to the Ashes opener, Cardiff's pitch was rated "poor" and its tennant, Glamorgan, docked two points for next season's Friends Provident Trophy following the spin-dominated contest against Essex earlier this month

i hope they go for Callum Ferguson as the spare batsman and not brad hodge, if that happens it will be funny reading the herald sun tommorow. but saying that, the spare player propably wont play and its just good expearience for Cal to be around the test side.

but all the players know if they are going now

Congratulations to Graham Manou on such an achievement.

WELL DONE CHOCCO - Well deserved

Quote from Andrew Hilditch
"Graham Manou has also been rewarded with his first squad selection for an Australian team following very strong interstate performances in all forms of the game over the last few seasons."

Good squad, disappointed Ferguson didn't get a gig, but he has plenty of time to do so!

Just a quick question though, why is Andrew McDonald selected, he can't bat but is a half decent bowler. Better off bringing an extra Full Time Bowler or Batsmen.

Watson would want to get through this tour injury free. Surely this is his last chance? Actually it probably isn't given the obsession the selectors seem to have with him

What Andrew Hilditch said
“Andrew McDonald played a very important role in both Australia's victory in the last Test match in Australia and on the recent series in South Africa and has been rewarded with his first Ashes squad selection."
