Players are pulling the pin everyweek from what I am hearing.

On another note speaking with Gordy Tonkin at our game saturday he said popey was umpiring his first GSFL A grade game I think it was the Mclaren game?? If so what do all you Mclaren guys think of the job he done?
I am hearing very good reports on his umpiring, could we see him set a example for other past players and see them get into umpiring also??

where are you hearing the players are pullin the pin? the numbers if anything are getting better! Bays undisiplined acts and slow start threw the game away against pongy and anyone watching from both teams will agree. Nothing agaisnt pongy, great mateship and pride that princi has achieved at the club can not go un-noticed.

Just things I am hearing around the traps mate, Dycer not to return to playing??

TW, you are obviously referring to the Bay boy (s) that signed clearances and bought magpie shirts on Saturday night. The players in question are registered to EB, but have only played 3 games between them. It was nice to make some $$$ on the merchandise sale but wouldnt think the clearance will be processed.

for once signman has it right. no one has left the club, just a few unavailable for various reasons. tom hooper is a good footballer and it would be a massive loss for the bays to lose him if he did go elsewhere. as for mitchell, he is up for review this week and all a grade players are being interviewed on tuesday night before training so if he is to be moved on by the club i would say it would happen in the near future so watch this space. (Randel Neale to takeover if he is moved on)

as for some positives from the weekend, i think the form on the enc bay back line of sanders, butler, lintern, weeds, blummy and young mick taggart was superb on the weekend. the score would have been much more ugly if these guys hadn't done suck a good job. (alot of pongy's goals were kicked by midfielders). other positives were the return of chad mclaren to the a grade side, his first for a long time and was named in the best players and also andy hargreaves who continues to play well. kicking 4 big ones playing in the middle.

finally i just hope everyone gets behind swainy and mick millard and co. these blokes put too much time and effort into the club to have to put up with what they are now.

BJ Ernest wrote:Congrats to Pongy on their first win for the season! Always a hard game when playing them and some deserved success for the Prince and his men up there.

We indeed were down at halftime, the half time biff certainly swtiched us on and we played the best half of footy i reckon weve played so far this year. To Goolwas credit they showed us that unless you are 100% switched on they are going to get the better of you. Cuthbert was great down back, Yeomans and Ewer are v. good through the middle and i thought Trent Griffen in the first half sparked the Goolwa lads.

Tight competition with 4 teams on 4-2 and another 2 on 3-3. Mclarens (Yetti will love i called them that ;) ) pushing Compass all the way shows Hilly is starting to turn the tide down there.

Thankyou BJ
My faith in you has been restored ;)

Dale is like any key player, if he is missing you will miss him. We are anything but a one man side and have plenty of other goal scoring targets around our side. To say Dale didn't fire against Goolwa is fair and no he didnt play on the weekend but like all forwards the ball is supplied to him from others. Against Goolwa White didnt play and guys like Hodge, Sammy J, Brown, Weetra, Bell and many others had a bad day, then on the weekend Victor had a few guys having a quiet game and Creek players got on top and got the win. These guys are all very good players and are going to have 'off days' like all players will and no doubt will look to turn it around this weekend.

I was surprised to see Popey at Mt Compass before the A Grade game. Even more surprised to see him come out in the green learners umpires shirt ( Forgot about him umpiring).

Umpired very well. As KK stated he let the game run and was consistant all day. (and that is what we want..consistancy). Came in for a drink with the other Central Umpire after the game. From what i have seen the ex players running around as umpires, with their knowledge of the game, tend to keep things pretty simple and not too technical.

McLaren are hosting the umpires training on Wednesday Night, with Tea afterwards

I don't think Dycer signed anything, no need because he doesn't want to play at all this year. Wait for the clearance to be processed for the other player, he is only a B-grade player and hasn't played many games at all in the last few years but his family is Bays through and through, or atleast were, his old man has put his hand up to sponsor him and be a team trainer for the Maggies reserves. Would be nice to get his brother/s out for us too. He ws quite proud of the shirt he purchased saturday night, was still showing it off yesterday at the Goolwa.

Just shows that people aren't happy out the bays, was plenty of support from past bays supporters at Goolwa oval saturday.

are untrue, Tom Hooper is not quitting the club and No (He does like the coach) so does
his younger brother Will.
Nor was there any apologise from the Littlely family althou Richard was having a beer &
discusion with Hutchy after the game.
Captain One Eye better get on his bike cause Nick Hooper is after you.

I think the whole bay thing is getting blown a little bit out of porportion and people are getting pretty excited about it. I have no knowledge of mitchells past but from what i have seen so far and up until the myponga game has not been bad, he gave an umpire a spray which gained him a yellow card but havent seen any rough house s*^T. The melle on sat was one of those things that happens and with both teams showing a bit of pride, disapoitning thing was it kept going on after the initial incident without any umpire invlovment and total lack of control this would have been the case in game no matter what teams playing. I dont excuse some of our players behavours but the umpires are there for a reason and if they cannot control a game of footy there is something wrong. I have umpired plenty of soccer games in my younger years and yellow and red cards works, footy umpires have them so use them!

In playing at the bays for the last four years i have learnt that there is a great bunch of local players who will stick together no matter what. It is these great bunch that will pull the footy club through and although most clubs may sit back and say the bays are shit they have only won one game, i can garuntee a small incident like this will only make us stronger.

Would be interesting to see a "injury list" from all clubs, most clubs seem to be getting a few key injuries.
