It worked until the other teams woke up to it and got fitter too.

The problem is it is only the senior players who are in form.
The likes of Johncok,Doughty,Reilly,Knights,Stevens are the ones who need to lift.
McLeod was in vintage form a month ago, slightly down now,Edwards has been on fire for the last month and Goodwin was good on Saturday night.

If only it were that simple. Unfortunately for some historically underperforming clubs, they have also thought that switching the senior coach is all you need to do. Get some guru in and it will fix all your recruiting, rehab, skills, etc and all will be well again!
Have a look at how Malthouse (great coach, no disrepsect intended) is travelling with Collingwood's injury hit side
You gotta have the guns in your team and, once you have them, the coaches look like geniuses. We lack guns, especially in the midfield and up forward. I never expected us to beat Brisbane anyway, even though the fade out was very disappointing.
Even if you don't rate NC, he has some very good assistants including Viney. I simply cannot accept all those coaches are going into games with only 1 single plan and hoping for the best. It's been an urban myth perpetuated ever since Rucci's article in 2007!

Or I should say what do you suggest in getting those guns?

These are the same people that say they are prepared to accept pain but as soon as it actually happens they want everyone sacked. That's no better than sitting at every game mindlessly yelling "kick the bloody thing."
Honestly, the most painful thing about a rebuild imo is seeing how soft, short-sighted and dim the bulk of your supporter base really is, and then having the airwaves smothered by their complaining. I can't even listen to the radio anymore, listening to people who haven't the slightest idea what's going on is infuriating. To the cats fans who sat through all the same crap - good on you for sticking it out.
