I do sympathise with you a little as a volounteer at the ravendale and aknowledge the time you and others put in, but it is simply not enough. It needs to be taken over by professionals.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

The RCC issue has been debated on here ad nauseum so lets not re open these wounds. The plain and simple facts are that the rate payers of PL were lied to from the outset by the PLCC. No fault of the TFC, they were merely the stooge that IB used to get his way. Not Doddy's fault, he was just a foot soldier at the time.
No one really wants the TFC to go down the gurgler, so the question is "how does the problem get fixed?"

imho the PLCC takes over the management and runs it like it did the pool. Gunna lose money but honestly we all knew that from the outset. Lease the oval and facilities to the PLFL during the footy season, and run it as a true community club with an interest for all 6 local clubs. Sadly a lot of people cannot get their head around the TFC/RCC thing....thats port lincoln footy. The PLCC treats it as a long term asset which will be a positive in years to come.
The TFC could also move their after match to one of the rooms at the back if necessary.

on the PLFL rep side, did I hear right that the coaches son was selected over marsh and arbon???????

night footy should only be played on Friday night. No conflict with other codes..easier for footy to manage and control.

Now who did I call useless? I think I just pointed out that there is at least two players selected for the PL side that are not as deserving as two guys who missed out.

Get it right, you useless twat. 8)

Hope no-one thought I was saying Pappy is useless, I was referring to the selectors.

And no-one'll change my mind.

Just got home from footy at Thevenard.

Eastern Eyre - 17.7
Far West - 8.9

(I think that was final score)

Eastern Eyre kicked with the wind in the first qrt and had 6.3 on the board before Far West scored. Eastern Eyre too classy all over the field and their kicking for goal was excellent they converted their chances well, Far West weren't disgraced and put up a good effort.

Went to watch the Whyalla V Port Lincoln today, and since I have lived in Whyalla for the last 2 years theres a few people I know around the tracks that were very confident in showing Lincoln a lesson in footy.Thursdays Whyalla News read "Whyalla should be too strong for Port Lincoln" & "Whyalla will be going into the game at near strength".(Thur May 14th,pg31)
And after reading all the negative criticism towards selections and even the coach on this site leading up to this game i was expecting a onesided affair. But to my delight , i could not of been more proud of the Lincoln boys.Whyalla led most of the day by 2-3goals,I believe Lincoln had most of the play all day,but just couldnt convert on the board and the forward lines didnt quite tick for the first 3 quarters. Our midfield and defence was excellent all day.I went into the lincoln changerooms at half time and also Whyallas, the one thing that I noticed was lincoln boys still looked fresh and the Whyalla boys were puffing hard.It stood out like dogs balls on the side line that the lincoln team was well interchanged and rotated compared to the Whyallas. And that was the difference in the end,Lincoln kicked 7 goals in the last quarter and won by 4goals.
The side was well coached, had 2 well respected runners in Goodwin & Thommo, selectors with credibility and finally a lincoln side that wanted to play and came to play. The side played well as a whole but my best players were Miller,Cragg-Sapsford,Oatway,McKinley,Papazaglov(stood a quality forward) and I dont know his name but the pecker boy with long legs and beautiful left foot kick for goal showed glimpses in front of goal.

PS Lincoln u/17's smashed Whyalla
