I heard today that if you get the whole amount of tax back that you paid last financial year, you dont get the $900

That would be right, you had to pay tax in 07/08 to get it, my missus doesn't earn enough to pay tax but still has to put a tax return in so they don't hassle her for one, she doesn't get the $900.

Got mine today, think I'll just put it off the mortgage and it will save me $1,000's in interest by the time I pay the house off Not what they wanted us to do, but seems like the best thing for me ATM

Yes, let the ATO know that you haven't received it (next week of course) , and if it got lost along the way, they will cancel that cheque and issue another one.

I thought I would be one of those that had to do so, until I got mine today.

Same here , I was thinking the same, got mine yesterday from my accountant. BTW, my accountant didm't charge me to send it my way......can't believe someone got charged $40 for that......must think they are a bank
