Stuff the TV and listen to it on the radio, the more people that do that cause the advertising revenue on the TV to be lessened and they will no doubt soon change it back to live if they want to make money out of showing it!

Game started over here at 7:30 not live but better than 8:30.

I think it will work as a TV winner, but only LIVE, come on TV networks listen to the fans for ONCE!

Crowds may not be good for a non blockbuster game.

Live footy would be good, but if you dont know the score anyway, it doesnt matter if its on TV on a bit of a delay. Bit different if its your own team, but in general it doesnt really matter.

no i don't and i don't believe it will work.

comparisons with american football teams are ridiculous - they'll have monday night football only rarely in their cities which will often have much larger populations than australian cities thus the pool of supporters/potnetial attendees is much larger - whereas here melbourne would be the only place that could support it - and only if larger supported teams play it whereby it would become the domain of sides like collingwood/carlton et al.

it also would lead to fixturing headaches - the sides playing monday games would then have to play sunday games and then sunday games so that they don't get two six day breaks in a row.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Rubbish it doesnt, if I know I can watch it live and be tucked up in bed around 9.30 the whole family would watch it.
The problem with the delayed telecasts are how late they go, how much crap they have on before the ball is bounced and the extended adverts and breaks.
I never watch Friday night footy on Channel 7 but watch Sat night footy on C10 and Foxtel most weeks.
Stuff watching a game till 11pm, some of us have to get up early!

Thats the issue, surely if they are bragging about how many people watched it at 8:30, imagine it was on as you ate take out and had a couple of calm down beers after the usual 'I hate Monday' routine. That would be sensational.

It was a huge winner in the TV ratings so i can't see why we shouldn't have more monday night footy but it has to be LIVE.

> Firstly its a massive misconception that the US have bigger cities than us, If Adelaide was in the US it would be the 10th biggest city and Adelaide is the smallest city in Oz.

> Fixturing wouldnt be too hard, have you noticed currently how the teams playing FNF all play on Saturdays the week before? None play on Sundays now

Channel 7 I don't think have ever heard of a live telecast during the home and away rounds, they were always having a go at Nine when they had the rights for not showing Friday Night footy live. If they were serious they could start the games at 7.30 and cut the crap out and show the second half live, it isn't that hard?

Thank goodness for Channel 10 whose coverage is nearly always live and Foxtel which has no add breaks, Channel 7 are a bunch of morons!

If they didn't play the ad breaks so long, and then take extra time up during the breaks and actually finished the telecast at a reasonable time like 1030, then I'd maybe watch the duration, but usually I just log on check out Thiele's good work and then bed.....
