But in turn we would make the Yanks look stupid so probably a worthwhile exercise.

Someone likes it ... Clarkson

JEREMY Clarkson has defended the Aussie version of Top Gear but says he knows why viewers haven't warmed to it.

In Sydney with fellow Top Gear host Richard Hammond to perform in stage show Top Gear Live, Clarkson praised the local SBS series when news.com.au asked about it.

"It’s brilliant," he said, while Hammond nodded his agreement

watched it last night under a bit of duress.it's not the greatest show going around but I think with James Morrison it's a little better. Charlie cox was a massive tool and the show will be better off without him.

They can copy the format and try to make it the same, but without Jezza, Hampster & Captain Slow, it can never be anywhere as good as the original.

I thought last night's episode was excellent - best thing they ever did was get rid of Cox.

Loved the scene where they were dropping things from a scissor lift, bouncing off a trampoline, into the car boot!

Ditto, though Morrison was worth trumpeting over. A lot more relaxed and pretty good viewing, although the midget still annoys me....

yeah looks like they are reading from a script but trying not to make it odvious. still like the british version with jeremy, james and richard . watched a bit of mondays show when they were trying to bounce the diff things off the trampoline into the back of the car like the stupid mazda ad it think it is or nissan. that was funny but the rest was not all that good.
