No, I think Sims was a mate of our Under13s coach and he would come out from time to time to talk to us . As I was the FF of our team, I used to bug him all the time about goalkicking techniques. Funny how I don't recall him being particularly inaccurate (certainly not against Norwood), but I'll bow to your knowledge.

Trevor Pierson. Anyone who can kick a ton in a side that wins one game must be good!

Not really, there were a few bits and pieces blokes, but the side (with the exception of Roberts) generally revolved around scoring input from small forwards and midfielders, like Turbill, Aish, K Thomas, G. Thomas, Neagle, Payne, with the odd tall timber chiming in like Michelaney and Button.

The bits and pieces blokes included the likes of Hall, Weeding (who I actually thought was ok), Pierce, O'Dwyer, Pyke and then in the 90's Prime, Pierri, O'Brien, West, Reade, Pascoe, Molloy.

Was a common ploy for Norwood to rest the ruckmen at FF in the 80's ... Whether by design or through lack of genuine FF options I'm not sure.

I thought Mark Ducker was always a reasonable full forward for Norwood in the 80's.

Bruce Schultz was a superstar, his career ended early with a knee injury.

I just never warmed to Tim Evans in any way, as someone who liked watching good players from other clubs on tv or live, when not playing Norwood. Probably hated Port too much but he also never looked like he seemed to enjoy the game that much, even when Port was winning a lot. Just a teenager's view, but couldn't warm to him, albeit that you were always worried he'd drop eight on you.

Actual Rog, Stephen Nichols played in some of Woddville's better sides. Was there from 86-88 when we made the finals twice, and ruined our start to the year in 88 by losing first five games all by very small margins (which hs been covered in another thread).
Not quite sure why he left after this year Does anyone know? Did it have something to do with us recruiting Jakovich for '89?

How many Norwood players have kicked 100 goals in a season? I presume this is what Bayman is referring to..

Know that wasn't his general position but thought he'd played a couple of seasons there at least.
Was one of the first player outside of Sturt I remember when I became old enough to be aware of the SANFL.

From memory did his knee in round 13 after just kicking his 100th goal for the season. With that strike rate and Norwood headed to the finals he would have smashed Farmer's record at the time. Absolute tragedy he never played again.

Apologies. obviously was thinking Nichols' record with Pierson's time.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.
