10 goals probably little misleading to the tale of the game.. Was very even throughout with IB getting away early and then only 4 goals down at 3 qtr time, probably shouldve been even considering it was 12.7 to 7.13 with a few 20m set shots missed, but then blacky kicked away in the last. All in all a much improved effort from IB. Still more room for improvement though

Be between them and Onkas for fifth spot you would think. This weeks game will be important in deciding.

On what I saw yesterday, Onkas showed thats there's a still a fair sized gap between the two teams.
I think Onkas may be fighting for top 3 spot this year especially with the form of Kirwan and Smith of late, these two players are absolutely dominating in the stoppages and around the ground. I lost count yesterday of the amount of times Smith tapped down to Kirwan for a clearance.

the game yesterday handorf v Urailda was a great game. thought the crowd was able to lift our boys up in the last quater. great game from both sides and u can tell both will figure deep into september. Uri had has down for the count at 3 quater time down by 4 goal but credit to the boys to just have a crack. Uri missed some shots which cost them and we capitalised. i think both sides will b sore from a very physical game. i saw ebert spend most of the day on the bench for uri, while johnsn the same for us. i also saw paul richards play b grade just wondering why this was? go the pies!!!!!!

Was a great game out at Hahndorf, but poor by Uri to squander their 4 goal advantage going into the last.
Paul Richards played B's as he had a wedding during the A grade time slot. Was good to see him go back a play B's when he could have easily just not played and not risk injury, gave some of the Bs players perhaps their only chance to play with someone of his talent.

Looks like final five is set already and its just a matter of the order. Birdwood and Bridgy are'nt quite good enough again it seems. Just goes to prove that buying a heap of so called gun recruits does not always work. Went down and had a look at Blackwood v Ironbank last night after our game and believe me that new boy Bradley can play. Won every tap and the young cherry gardens boys stood taller with him there. Take Gigney out of the woods and the bankers would have won. Game was theirs to win in the third and they missed so many easy shots on goal. Was a great game though, great atmosphere. Bankers will win soon and win more than 3-4 games based on that performance. Exiting times ahead for them. Not sure about the woods when it comes to the crunch. To reliant on too few.

I think you'll find that both Birdwood and Bridgy were'nt expecting a quick one year turnaround, with both clubs committing to a 2-3 year rebuilding project.

Make no mistake, the dynamics of the HFL are changing. Birdwoods efforts against Handorf and Mt Lofty were very impressive, while Bridgys 10 goal thrashing of Mt Barker was a huge turnaround on last year, and after 5 games they already have 3 wins (they only had 2 wins for the whole of 2008).

I think its good the the HFL that the teams at the bottom of the ladder in 2007-8 are making inroads - even if finals in 2009 is out of reach (and I'm not 100% certain that is the case).

Being "Half Cut", yelling abuse and wanting to go on with it ( in front of a club and it's members), is poor form and non-professional. I would say 4 - 8 players have left the club after tonight. It's a shame that the hard work done by a lot of people around the club, has been un-done by 2 idiot's that can't accept the word NO!!!

im not a bridgy person but i know that lots of hard work has happened since 2008, why use this forum to destablise? why re-post a comment from the day before ? very poor

Tips for this week:

Mt Barker vs Mt Lofty - Mt Barker not travelling well at the moment, while Mt Lofty seem to be cruising along nicely. Barker won the game at home last year, but they are a shadow of last years side. Plus the oval will be in better condition. Lofty by 15 goals

Uraidla vs Bridgewater - Uris have lost the last two in close games against strong sides, so perhaps down on confidence. Bridgey had a good win last week and may have their tails up, but I expect they may have Uraidla's frustration of the last two weeks taken out on them. Uraidla by 10 goals

Hahndorf vs Blackwood. The game of the round is once again at pine avenue. Both beat Uraidla by the same margin, however the side Uraidla put on the park was a bit stronger against the Magpies. At home - Hahndorf by 5 goals

Lobethal vs Onka Valley - Doggies travelling pretty well at the moment, while Lobey coming off another big loss. Onkas look set for finals action this year. Onkas by 15 goals

Birdwood vs Ironbank - The weekend would have really dented Birdwoods finals chances, and will be down on confidence. Still yet to knock off a strong Hills Central club. Ironbank would have taken a lot out of the weekends game, and will give it a red hot go. But at the velodrome - Birdwood by 3 goals

Not sure about the qtr by qtr scores of the IB game, but was alot closer than the scoreboard suggests, the bigger oval certainly suits us, pity 50% of our games are at home...

Funny that because I reckon Bridgy are the same. We play better on the bigger grounds than on Bridgy oval.

At least it doesnt matter with me. The size of the oval make no difference, I cant get a kick big or small.

I must admit to being rather surpised at how Onkas have gone so far in 2009. Although Top 3 may be too big a call.
