About a 4 goal win to the Bs. Yankalillas B grade were tough at it and a lot bigger bodies than our boys!

In the As we had a patchy game. Yank pushed hard early and the 1st quarter was pretty even. The 2nd we put our foot down and kicked about 10 for the quarter.

Big 3 weeks for us coming up, looking forward to the challenge of Goolwa this week! Disappointing news for Simon Dennis to go down!

despite signmans post that the bays got thrashed, it was a bit closer than the scores showed. they were about 5 goals up most of the day but kicked away late due to eagleton just touching up his stats. they definately beat us on the day but weren't dominant as the score suggested.

The main reason however for the post was to annouce this weeks 'Mirror' award.......and this weeks lucky winners are the umpires from the strath v e bay game, gents go and have a good hard look at yourselves. positively ruined what could have been a very good game for all involved. these arent the views of a sore loser as some might think, but echoed by the strath players as well.

Okay, well obviously ignore this table.
The real score was Willunga 16 -7 103 .d. Yankalilla 12 - 2 74

If I've worked it out right this gives Willunga a percentage of approx 177% and Yankalilla a percentage of approx 77%

So for the correct table this means you'd swap Yankalilla and Goolwa around

Where are Langhornes Creek in season 2009?
After 5 games they have beaten the 3 bottom sides :Yank, Pongy and Encounter Bay. easily
Lost to Strath and Compass in close games.

They are yet to play Willunga and Victor, who they will struggle to beat on current form
Goolwa/PE has beaten both the teams they have lost to, in Strath and Compass. So maybe they will struggle against Goolwa/ PE.
One would expect that they would beat Mclaren.

After round 9 there is a fair chance they will be 4 wins and 5 losses.
At best if they beat both Goolwa/PE and McLaren 5 wins 4 losses

Is that acceptable, considering their recruits???

At the halfway point we could very well see:

As a supporter I'm not too worried just yet, it will take a while for the team to gel. Recruits don't necessarily mean instant success, just as long as things are sorted out by the business end of the season.

A general observation I have is that the Creek don't seem to have a 'plan B' when things aren't going their way at the moment. Perhaps they feel that the talent of the lineup alone will get them over the line without any planning etc.. For example, I wonder if they sent anyone to watch the Victor/Maggies game last weekend?

I didn't get to the game on Sat unfortunately but as I posted after the Strath loss, hopefully lessons have been learnt from the game and the coaching staff will work on the appropriate adjustments this week at training in preparation for this weeks game.

LF and TW I have heard the reasons behind sat average performance was due to 100 beers friday night!! True??
TW by the sounds of it it was not a great game but still good to get over the old team and kick a nice running goal. I hear you almost had a second on your left but just missed by a coat of paint, the lads recon you would have been thinking about telling the packed crowd about it before it even hit your boot!!

No, not true Kappars. My poor form is due to a severe lack of ability. I cant speak for TW but i think you will find that his opponent was BOG for us, so maybe he was just ouplayed.

A quick observation about the junior colts and senior colts. For all the McLarens posters, what has happened in the junior grades?? You have gone from premiers and runners up in 08 to having both teams at 1 and 4 and sitting bottom. Is it due to having lots of players at South?

They are still offering $1000 a game for a quality midfielder.
