Pakistan vs. Australia-T20 Intl.

Postby Gozu » Thu May 07, 2009 4:20 pm

Starts at around 1:30am tonight and will be Brett Lee's comeback game and also will supposedly see Shane Watson resume bowling (he shouldn't). Also Brad Haddin will captain the side. This one-off match is back in Dubai and will then complete the tour in which we won the ODI series 3-2. Then the players will go on a short break until the World Twenty20/Ashes tour which starts early next month but some players will go to South Africa (including Lee) to see out this current IPL season.

The match starts in just under an hour at 1am not 1:30am.

You heard correct. He didn't even get a chance to bowl

cricinfo.com wrote:Watson, who was supposed to feature for the Rajasthan Royals, will depart for Australia on Friday after suffering a groin injury during the Twenty20. He was injured while batting and did not take his place on the field during Pakistan's chase.

"Shane has suffered a mild groin strain," Cricket Australia's team doctor Trefor James said. "He will return home for scans and rehabilitation and his condition will be reviewed over the coming weeks to determine his availability for the ICC World Twenty20."

Did his injury batting ??????????????????????
I would suggest he might have started it by bowling in the nets ???????????

When will he learn ?

271 runs at 91-33 ave in the ODIs
When batsman struggled to make runs

33 of 14 balls
when all the batsmen struggled to get a run a ball

And he wants to bowl

How can we possilby win a 20/20 world cup without him

Watson is an idiot obviously. He needs to concentrate on batting as he has done that well lately, but no he has to continue to bowl his rubbish and get himself injured time and time again.

Let's just forget about Watson. Seriously.

As soon as he starts to look good he falls apart.
Yes he has talent, but damages team stability by being too unreliable.

Get Hodge in the side for the T20 stuff at least.

Watson, meanwhile, was initially cleared to feature for the Rajasthan Royals, but suffered a mild groin strain while batting against Pakistan in the series finale. "He will return home for scans and rehabilitation and his condition will be reviewed over the coming weeks to determine his availability for the ICC World Twenty20," said Australian team doctor Trefor James.

He was batting, did not field at all.

It was his groin as well.

Will miss the IPL and is in slight doubt for the 20/20 WC

The match was delayed by a good 45 minutes waiting for the Sheik Mohammed (I gather their PM/President) to arrive at the ground so both teams spent a fair bit of time warming up on the ground. Watson looked to be bowling full stretch in the warm ups and who knows maybe that might've been when he tweaked the groin? I recall watching Watto thinking this was going to end in tears. No IPL now and serious doubt over his ability to front up for the T20 WC.

Give up the bowling, Watto.

PUP
Its purely circumstantial speculation.
But its a coincidence that he was bowling at practice.

Was is that bowling that caused his injury ?
History repeats ?

Is anyone surprised Marsh/Watson both got injured on this tour ?
We only gotta go back to ODI game 1 when I posted odds on which ozzie would be injured first.
I wont take NOSTAmalDAMUS creditation for picking these 2 to get injured
Blind Freddy could have predicted that

Is it the end of WATTO ?

NO if he heeds the advice of SAFOOTY guru ROD_ROOSTER and just bats
The next time WATTO should be allowed to bowl will be at an RSL club

It would be worse for him if this injury has nothing to do with his bowling. If it was purely his batting that caused it he is even more injury prone than fist thought. At least if it was caused by bowling he might finally get the hint that he should just give it away.

He had been talking about bowling again, perhaps that was enough to cause an injury?
