Shocking performance here by the WI. Shows that catches win matches after dropping 7 in the evening session yesterday, and England holding onto some difficult chances thanks to Collingwood.
WI now 9/132 (as Collingwood drops a catch, mockers on him i think). Need another 45 to avoid the follow on

Why would you send out a night watchman on what is obviously a good pitch on the first day?
All he is going to do is eat up valuable time whilst the pitch will be at its best to bat on. Pretty gutless by Pieterson.

Totally agree.
2/300 and send a bowler in to do a batsmans' job.![]()
Mind you, it is still fairly common practice to this and if captains never did this DIZZY would never have scored his 201* which will still be talked about in 50 years time.

Yes they were 2/300 but only with a couple of overs to go. KP is on a hiding to nothing. He can go out and get his eye in for 2 overs and make 3 or 4 and then have to start again the next morning or he can be dismissed. How is it of benefit to bat last night?
A lot of captains do it and i do not have a problem with it. I think this is more England and KP bashing more than anything else.

Not from me. Even in his current form i would be very surprised to see Michael Hussey send a night watchman in at 2/300. It is a good deck and he should be wanting to get out there and bat as early as he can and he passed that opportunity up.
