Scrap Hawthorn from any guesses. Also no to any more guesses on St Kilda, Adelaide, Essendon, the Bulldogs. West Coast doesn't have two players have played 280 games in total. That should narrow it down a bit.

Im thinking of Archer, Martyn, Stevens from the Roos might be there, but Martyn was gone before the other two.

Right club for the final, and leading pair. I pray you are quicker than the tooth-pulling exercise that was the Bulldogs pair ;)

Who, in VFL / AFL history, are the leading pairs of players (teammates I mean) to have taken the field together for a club in the most matches. You need some big numbers to get on the page.
1. Kevin Bartlett & Francis Bourke 289 matches together of a possible 358 for Richmond (1967-81)
2. Brad Johnson & Scott West 287 matches together of a possible 345 for the Western Bulldogs (1994-2008)
3. Nathan Burke & Stewart Loewe 280 matches together of a possible 358 for St Kilda (1987-2002)
4.Tyson Edwards & Andrew McLeod. 280 matches together of a possible 312 for Adelaide (1995 - Round Six, 2009)

Ahh so with Supe and Snout probably exceeding those names - more evidence for Supe's induction into the Hall of Fame this year.

Better career than all thsoe wood-ducks put together

I know you said there was no Hawthorn pair but Kelvin Moore and Leigh Matthews must have gone awfully close.

Moore - 300 games between 1970 and 1984
Matthews - 332 games between 1969 and 1985

and....

Stephen Silvagni - 312 games between 1985 and 2001
Craig Bradley - 375 games between 1986 and 2002
R.I.P. Patrice Lumumba 1925 - 1961

I'll endeavour to track down the next group, because Tuck would be among that lot too, while the other Bulldog combinations would be 250 plus I reckon, plus a few Adelaide combinations
