Played well did the skinny (wicks) if my memory serves me right thats his name??? Showed plenty of courage putting his head over the ball, love seeing the skinny blokes giving it all. Being one of the skinniest Div 7 players myself going around :-)
Hope the skinny Wicks is ok Quich.

Yep, Wicksy had a blinder first half, found plenty of the ball and took a couple of great contested marks. Has really stepped up this year so hopefully it's nothing serious. He's definitely got a bit of his brother about him - fit, dedicated and a real goer.

Roger James fresh off his 23 goals for Kersbrook on Saturday to be out at Mawson Lakes taking the Saints lads for a training session tomorrow night. Riddler bringing disco lights, to teach Roger his dance moves. ;)

i had a look on the SAAFL website and the scores are wrong for our game. it was actually
Raggies 19.10.124
Ovies 11.16.82

we had just as much of the ball and only 2 less scoring shots but fell asleep either side of half time, pretty much the same as the angle vale match, and it cost us. as well as our inaccurate kicking.

i think we will definately improve as the season progresses but have to string 4 quarters together... especially against a good unit like Athelstone.

Commendable effort, nugget. With a lack of preseason from most of your blokes each match is an improvement on the group's fitness, starting to show on the field now I guess.

yeah not only that we had only 9 players on the weekend from our premiership side last year. i didn't realise how many new blokes we had until i looked at our GF team sheet from last year.

we have 4 from the GF side gone. 6 playing B grade and a couple injured. there has been a heap of new signatures at the club so learning how eachother plays and gelling properly will take some time as well as determining who is up to playin A grade. we have a our fair share of talent and some of the new blokes are showing their worth. we had 7 blokes new to the club this year that shaped up in our A's on saturday. good signs for Ovies for a bit of longevity in Div7 and up...

one new bloke out this year, who was our best on the weekend, may sound familiar to you. Nick Mudge, his brother is out with your mob, he's pretty keen for round 7...

Just had a look at team lists. No players from SHOC's Round 3 C grade list played Div 1R today, maybe they just had a few inclusions?

Thats exactly what happened we had 5 blokes into our A grade, Flatman from the Emergency Services Team, Horan from injury, Yeomans from a wedding, Floreani from injury. That pushed blokes down and you'll find James Donnell played the previous game or 2 in the Cs as well.

OK! I think we've all established that SHOC's weren't dropping players to stack their side. Now can we PLEASE move on!!

Well at least it keeps things honest down that way at SHOC (this time i got it wrong)
Maybe Angle Vale are not as strong as we 1st thought

Here’s my tips for this week's games

SHOC V Houghton Dis 11-20 (Houghton should have better showing than Angle Vale last week but SHOC at home)
Flinders Uni V Ovingham 1-10 (This is a hard one to pick but on current form Ovingham by a few points)
Henley V Athelstone 11-20 (Maybe GF preview 09 going for Athelstone to upset the sharks again for the 2nd week)
Nth Pines V St Paul’s 50 + (St Paul’s to keep winning form and get % along the way)
Angle Vale V Adelaide Uni 11-20 (Angle Vale only because it’s at home but they will need a big improvement on last week’s form or Uni may upset them and get the points)

Was a great game Barnyard you blokes came out of the blokes fast and you looked like you were in for a big day, having said that even when we went in at the main break down by 7 goals i still thought we were in it....we regrouped and tried a few different things and all of a sudden the boys just clicked.

Henley are a quality unit and will still have a very big say come September...full credit to your lads also Barnyard for sticking around and having a few beers.

Yeah no worries mate we do have a policy that we try and get as many blokes as we can to hang around after away games and have a beer at opposition clubs there werent as many as we liked but a fair few went to the showdown so thats probably why there wasnt more,Good move by the club to get that oval facilities there are alot better than at the school.Any way look forward to catching up down at henley.

He played C's last week

I dont know him personally so I cant comment

I'll see what I can find out (and post) but as you will note, commenting on my own club is a big no-no, other than counter intelligence of course ;)
