Maybe Taliem thought they were a lot better at the start of the year. They front up against Imps this week & you would think a fair flogging is on the cards.

Lol...he's probably negotiated a bonus of a couple extra JB cans and some mullett if he gets named in the best players! Sounds like he may have come into some good form, maybe WOW can clear it up for us...

I didn't see the game, but it looks like Tailem had trouble containing the Bluds' big blokes up forward. Tailem, for all their recruits in the off season, haven't really got a standout CHF or CHB which wouldn't really be helping them. Their junior teams should both finish top 3 this year, so even if they don't make make it to the final weeks of September this season, there's a bit of hope that they be competitive in the coming years, something that looked doubtful 2 or so years ago.

The Bluds i think will be up there but i doubt they'd quite have the class of Imperials and maybe Ramblers, but I'd say will still be top 3 contenders alongside Mannum.

GWW I was at the game good wins by all grades except the A grade. Dent would be very dissapointed, had plenty of chances up till half time. Poor desicion making, no maning up, very little voice, no team work, no structure up forward and most of all some of the worst skills I have ever seen from an A grade side. Full credit to the Bluds as they wanted it more.

i will go back to my previous question where i said.........Not saying the recruits that Tailem have aren good players just wondering if Dent can coach them to play together as a team..............
its starting to look like the coaching skills arent up to scratch. first 2 games of the season Tailem have had to fight hard to win and have come from behind to beat mannum and meingie.

I was at the game and that was really disappointing. Thomas and Comer didn't fire a shot, they didn't look up to it at all.

The Eagles were all arguing with each other, and had no direction other there. A few of them tried hard, but there was no fluency in their game. They won the ball just as much, and had as many 50 entries. Very disappointing effort for a side that should be good.

Looking ahead to this week's round:

Mypolonga V Meningie - both teams are winless and will be desperate for a win, Mypo at home should have a bit more class 21-30.

Jervois V Ramblers - 2 fairly inform sides, it could be a nail biter, i think though Ramblers may have a few too many guns for Jervois, although a Bluds victory wouldn't surprise. Ramblers 11-20.

Tailem Bend V Imperials - Flag favourites Imps will have too much fire power up forward against a Tailem defence that's currently lacking defensive options. Imps 15 goals.

Yeah, they certainly seem to struggle up forward. What I don't get is they picked up a genuine full forward in Rankine, who is an old fashioned full forward, who is a proven goal kicker in this league, and they play him as a flanker, and put a bloke who spent his whole carrer rucking, who can't mark or run, as a fullforward... there seems to be no sense in this.

Drama do your home work first, kicking 18 goals a game in the first 2 games tells me they aren't struggling up forward. Every side has a bad day out at some stage and Tailem had one against Jervois. But Jervois on the other hand were very good on that day

Scratchin 3 - what is rankine's backgroud? from what i noticed on saturday he didn't get a lot of delivery but moved ok. Could he be a possibility up forward? In addition comer looked to be crowded everytime the ball came in. It looked like they just needed to free up the space. I believe the forwards need a few games together to sought out positions etc as i believe it is the first year they have all played together....just remember it is early days.

Hahaha! I haven't played in years, definately no team mates of mine. Calm down mate. Hardly think I bagged them either, just said they didn't seem up to it Saturday. And yeah, my point is Tailem had plenty of chances to score and won't back down from that. Dalwood made the observation that between Comer, Rankine and O'Connell, they only kicked 4 goals. The Eagles managed to keep Jervois to 12 goals which is a fair effort.

So my point is, the way I saw the game, thry had PLENTY of chances to kick goals. Comer is a speicalist ruckman, who doesn't play in the ruck. Rankine is a specialist fullforward, who doesn't play fullforward. This point was pointed out by a few Jervois mates Saturday.

Why not get Comer into the ruck? He comes with a big profile as a ruckman. Why not give Rankine some room to kick goals?

I'm entitled to my opinion.
