Pakistan vs. Australia-4th ODI

Postby Gozu » Fri May 01, 2009 2:44 am

We're up 2-1 so obviously Pakistan need to win this match to have any hope of winning the series. They've dropped Saeed Ajmal for Fawad Alam and have brought Shoaib Akhtar back into the side for Sohail Tanvir. Akhtar looked like he was just about finished in the first two matches and was clearly limping. Brett Lee has joined the squad and they're saying he might play in the final match of the series or the Twenty/20 match. Will be interesting to see if we persist with David Hussey with Marcus North now over there too.

It's make or break now, if we can get Afridi out cheaply, that's halfway to victory.

Ignore my post at the top. It's obvious that Ajmal, Akhtar & Tanvir are playing and that Fawad Alam isn't. That'll teach me to put too much stock in Fox Sports articles the day before the match! Supposedly "they" think it's between Lee and Bollinger for the final paceman spot on the Ashes tour and if so Lee wouldn't have liked that bowling performance from Bollinger.

An inept captaining effort by CLARKE
PAK 197 [48.4]
BOLLINGER 5/35 [7.4]
To not bowl Dougie for 10 overs was a tactical blunder
Dougie would have only bowled 8 overs as it worked out if PAK batted the overs out
CLARKE should be scrutinised by the selectors ;)

AU were 2/3
CLARKE under pressure coz he didnt bowl Dougie for his full allotment responded
CLARKE 100* [122]
WATTO 85*[140]
AU 2/200 [44.2]

I decided to watch the in until WATTO was out, so watched the whole innings.!

On a minefield this patnership was phenominal
CLARKE played perhaps one of the greatest ODI innings on a bad pitch in history
WATSON played perhaps the most unskilled, luckiest ODI innings in history, batted poorly

WATSON opened
His record as an opener is very very good for AU
Thats his spot

AU leads 3-1 in the series
Great effort on dodgey spinning minefields

ajMAL has not taken a wicket since WATTO squeeled. :D

PAKISTAN has so many big name players and perhaps underachieves in world cricket

How can a side with such big names in
Kamran akMAL
Saeed ajMAL
Shoaib MALik
dissapoint so often
