Interesting that tonight is the first night of Balaklava's new Friday night Alcohol policy. No drinking after 8pm A Grade or B Grade players. Get caught and you are made unavailable to play. Could this be a response to Catford last week? He is not picked this week and apparantly was summonsed to train with the B Grade last night. :-k
Personally I think this policy has a lot of merit in it but I guess its like all policies in that its only good until you let the first bloke get away with it.

I will raise my bat on this as that brings up 600 Quality posts from me. Have a good weekend! :supz: :d :-bd
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Not showing up for games is bad, but you have to remember it's country footy and it's supposed to be fun. Nobody would stop me having a Friday night beer. That rule is crap.

Virginia, it pains me to say, were very impressive, their tackling, footskills and ferocity far more urgent than our boys, probably fair to suggest we didn't do ourselves any favours by getting caught Holding it too much, but The Rams will take some scalps this year, Erin's dad has got them up and about to his credit.

On a side note, there was a reasonable crowd to watch so lets hope that both teams continue to attract spectators as they did on satdee.

Not sure what sort of axe your trying to grind pal, you've made several comments along these lines. Two Wells have a lot of young kids, Stevie Wonder could see that, but not a lot in the 23-28 year old range, when footy players should be cherry ripe.

That and the fact that pretty much all of these "Kids" are under six foot doesn't make for instant success.

oh, and would have been nice for you to actually show up and watch, pay your money, have a beer whatever, rather than jumping on here having a crack from afar. [-X If you really gave a s%^t you would have been there, so keep reading the scores in the paper, that's pretty comprehensive!! =;

    Tell me your kidding Rooster, must admit with the week off I thought it would be worth the trip over to Two Wells as I was assured the ground would "packed out" as suggested by Jumbo. I actually thought the crowd was pretty disappointing, in comparison to a United Vs Mallala game where it is ABSOLUTELY packed under the veranda, considering it was a local derby and I thought both sides had a bit to prove, I thought the crowd turnout was poor, but havent been to a market garden derby before and didnt really have anythin to compare it to! Admittedly I left at half time, but it was a pressure cooker thats for sure with both sides applying plenty of pressure which was great to watch. I agree Virginia looked very good and their pressure made Two Wells look pretty ordinary at times. I do feel for the Roosters as they definately have the talent but they just lack 2 or 3 big fellas to give them a target coming out of defence, heading to CHF and at FF. I think having to play Allmond and Hardiman, your two best players across half back sums it up. The young "Ranga" from Virginia was sensational and a real standout, and Geradis while he was quiet in the first half, looks as though he is about to explode and kick a bag any time soon, a definate talent that will need watching.

Did big Rooster have a crook wing, I did notice him sitting up on the hill at one stage?

Its a good policy - just a shame its needed - players should do the right thing for themselves and their teammates.

Well done MC - hope to read many more "quality" posts.

Ace or Jack, can you please sum up united performance for our information? on paper it looks like they only played half a game. Very similar to us.

Jericho in best and kicking 6. Did he earn them or was he laced as per usual?

The local derby's of late have been down on crowds - not so long ago it was packed to the rafters, Saturday was the biggest crowd for a derby we have seen for a few years.

Good to see a few of the Virginia lads hang back for a beer after the game and I agree, from what I saw they are the real deal. And yes Two Wells lacked targets up forward - Hardiman across half back has been in excellent form in the trials and first 2 games (didn't see the first but from all reports) - I think that is his spot. Once Allmond gets his fitness level up I think we will see him move further up the ground.

If your wondering if United will be the team HB chalks up its first win of the season against, unfortunately I will be tipping United comfortably, they are still a quality side and they played the best side in the competition on Saturday that is still in "idle" mode!! HWE will be very very very tough to beat when they get up and going properly. From the reports I have seen and heard Hamley have been pretty similar to the last few years, or are these reports misleading BenC? I would love to see Hamley fighting for a top4 spot.

Was just stating they only played half a game. Wasnt insinuating anything else. Are those reports your mention just your thoughts? Anyway they are not totally misleading. We're different in terms of fitness and depth as we have advanced in this area, but currently we can only capitalise in 2 or 3 quarters of the game which is costing us as it did all last year and year before.

We will improve each week we play and certainly will be fighting for a finals spot. :ympray: :ympray: :ympray:

I'd say they won the 2nd quarter when they kicked 5 goals into the breeze. We won the other 3. Still, early days...

As for Jezza, I'm not sure what you mean. It's not like he got 6 handballs over the top when he was on the goal-line. I don't think any less of Dunstall, and most of his goals came from being "laced".

Hummocks were pretty good on Saturday. I think they were pretty much full strength and showed why they are still a good side. We were right in the game until 3/4 time then Hummocks kicked away and once the game was lost we tried a few things that obviously didn't work and made the scoreboard look worse for us. Jericho and Thomas both kicked 3 goals in "junk" time, but for the rest of the day they were well held. I'm still positive we can beat them if we all play well but on this particular day they were the better side and the score reflected that. No excuses from our end.

I think we will find out this week if Virginia is "the real deal" when they play Mallala. So far they have had a soft draw but they can't do any more than beat the sides they play on the day. Perhaps an early question mark over the green machine could be their depth once injuries hit them judging by the past couple of weeks B Grade scores.

What about crumming ballups or ballins or getting into position for the back hand pass and capitalising or causing other team to fail when kicking out of the backlines or stationary marks in hot spot? Plenty other ways to earn your stripes up forward instead of leading, marking and kicking.

Basically i was putting the question out there as he was in the best players and was wondering if it was for kicking 6 goals by doing some ground work or was it just from lead, mark, goal?
