Had Scotland at the start of the season, traded him after he was dropped.

Also had Carazzo but also traded him before season begins. He gets plenty of touches though.

What are people's thoughts on Andrew Mackie who's dropped to $400K but was good today

Appeals as an upgrade target from one of my rookies in defence

I was targetting Lindsay Gilbee but came across Mackie's price drop while I was looking up the stats on the defenders

I have had him (Mackie) from the start and have been slightly disappointed with his scores. A slow start to the season for him, but if he can find a bit more freedom (as he did this round) on a regular basis he'll be a good pick up.

Gilbee had a good start but has been a bit down the last two matches, have also got him. I'm looking to upgrade Petterd in my defense, was looking at Lockyer.

Tom Harley will be back in the Cats side soon and that's good news for Mackie. The reason his scores have been down (and his price) is that we've had no Harley and Hunt all year and against the Crows Milburn missed out as well. This meant that Mackie had to put time into his opponent instead of zoning off to be Geelong's wicket keeper. He could very well become a REBCat this week.

i'm not REB, nor do i think my opinion carries as much weight as REB but i have Houlihan in both my dream team and supercoach sides. he averages 87.2 in DT and 91 in SC which to me says he isn't as efficient as others are that have as many touches as him, or they are mostly uncontested. but that said, i don't mind, he's quite economical!!!

It would be because they are mostly uncontested possessions. His scores have proved good value for his starting price, but I will be looking higher for an upgrade option.

Good user of the ball with a high efficiency rate and as long as Carlton can keep winning he will rack up the scores. If you pick him up you pick him up for good though so whether you think he is a keeper at his current price is up to you. I got him a couple of weeks ago but not in my initial squad so I spent more money on him than those that had him right away.

This week though my defence will be complete once I give Patrenko the big A.

Patty Ryder could be a choice out of 'left-field', can get him in defence, but looks like he may get a lot of time up and around the ground with Hille gone for the season.

I put him in a couple of weeks back and then had a poor game against North last week.
Repaid the faith on Saturday and looks like he'll be value after all.

Got killed by the North/Richmond match where Harvey got a donut and I didn't have an active bench player :(
Then Richo compounds it with his injury...

Gary Ablett as skipper is a no brainer an easy 150 + each week provided he stays fit.

I have some massive injury concerns and I am trying to limit my trades as I only have 14 or so left and its only week 2

Q Before You

F: Rioli, J Brown, Didak
HF: S Johnson, Pavlich, Krakouer
C: Higgins, J Selwood, K Cornes
HB: Hurn, Mackie, R Petterd
B: Gilbert, C Cornes, Gilbee
R: Cox, G Ablett(c), Judd

I/C: Ziebell, Rich, S Hill, McIntosh

Buddy Franklin's pricetage has dropped considerably and is about the same with Didak, thinking of making that direct swap as I reckon Didak will miss at least another two weeks. Will also need to do some work on my defence in coming rounds, need to replace either Hill or Petterd with a gun.

Upgrading Petrenko. Andrew Mackie or Graham Johncock thoughts?

Going to go Mackie i think. One more question for my fellow players.

Need to have one of Hill or Rance on the ground this week? Which one, both have been up and down as you would expect from Rookies. Richmond play Sydney while Freo play WCE in the Derby.

In: L. Davis, S. Mumford Out: B. Harvey, D. Hille

B: J Drummond, N Bock, J. McMahon
HB: T. Lockyer, A. McPhee, N. Lovett-Murray
C: N. Jones, J. Adcock, B. Reilly
HF: L. Davis, R. Murphy, N. Krakouer
F: A. Davey, L. Franklin, S. Dew
1R: J. Meesen, L. Montagna (C), L. Hodge

Int: R. Petterd, M. Coughlan, S. Mumford, T. Walker

EMG: L. Greenwood, D. Zaharakis, J. White

Problems:
1) My ruck is shit. I brought in Mumford because he has his third game this week so his price will go up from $131,000 by say $30,000 or so.
2) Underperforming midfielders such as N. Jones and B. Reilly are letting me down.
3) Murphy and Coughlan after injury need to find their feet as well. Was lucky to win last week.
4) Without Ablett, I have no obvious choice as captain. Was tempted to switch to the inconsistent Davis, but stuck with the plucky Saint midfielder.

Bit of a roll of the dice. I think Hill is getting better, had a good game last week and could be buoyed by the Derby, which is why I selected him on the field ahead of Petrenko (who probably won't have as much game time as Hill).
