Mclaren controlled the game all but the third quarter where we got a bit lazy and the umpires pulled some shockers in front of goal, that gave the tigers a sniff, and as everyone knows thats all they need to get going!

We are still adapting to the new game plan and for the hard work we are doing, we are not rewarding ourselves by getting it on the scoreboard!

id say u boys are goin al right mate.yas have only had 1 loss thus far being to willunga.

Very true. Strath at home this week will tell all a little more about where McLaren are at. I am suggesting a 10 goal win to Strath, but pretty close up until half time.

Mclaren V Yankalilla A GRADE
Last quarter and the scores were very close.
Yank player grabs the ball at centre wing, in front of the clubrooms and the crowd.

Runs on 45 degree angle towards the boundary and the end McLaren was kicking....I thought to get space and then tocentre the ball

BUT NO HE THEN PUTS ON A SPURT AND KEEPS RUNNING THE WRONG WAY AND KICKS 45 METRES THE WRONG WAY.
PRICELESS

you forgot he had a bounce too!!!
who ever thought of the saying winning isn't everything, probably lost!!

Should be a good game Damian, we usually match up alright To Strath, we are definately looking forward to the challenge to see where we are against the stronger clubs. We know the last two wins have been against teams that are struggling at the moment, but saying that , those were the type of games we were losing last year. :D

Be worth points and not sure the player Goolwa need with the rejuvention they are having. They have points spare, but they will need them for another tall to help Sam Jones and for Ben Yeomans with five games to go???? Must remenber that Goolwa with their new found form will see them in the top 6 at least and the points will drop from 14 to 11 in 09. Don't fall for the same trick Victor did!

agreed TC goolwa definately had plenty of the small/middle sized players around the packs last week and ran the ball with handball very well out of the backlines before spotting up their big men in attack in white and co.

Good mail BJ, its the first I have heard of it but wouldnt be completely silly considering he is engaged to a Goolwa girl. If we pick him up this year by the time we get to 2010 our total points will be 8, leaving 3 to play with. If we add a 3 pointer along with a couple of ex Goolwa boys you are worth nothing then our team will probably still be able to improve.

Goolwa are heading in the right direction. Probably a year after the hype (mostly built up outside the club) said it would but the results on field are good. The return of players like Jones and Dennis coupled with the recruits Ewer and White and continued development of their juniors is great.

Tough month ahead for the Maggies with Compass, Victor, Willunga and Creeks all in a row but a great test and will show exactly where Goolwa are at. I expect them to surprise a couple in this month and push all of these sides!

LF, don't forget Riggles in 2010? He will be 3 points and the best 3 the club could spend.

Magoos tips for this week.
1. Be nice to your mother.
2. Have a flu injection.
3. Don't drink and drive.
4. Listen more and talk less.
5. Open a door for the fairer sex at least once today.

A good round with 3 and maybe 4 of the 5 games being close.
Langhornes will be angry and fired up and far too good for the Mudlarks. Myponga has had a tough draw and are better than their results have shown. Langhornes with just a lot better list

Strath and Mclaren is an intriuging one. McLaren have not done a lot wrong against Encounter bay and Yankalilla, yet totally outclassed against The Mighty Demons. Strath did Ok against Victor, dissappointed against Goolwa and surprised most with a very good win over langhornes.
Strath will win, but could be close or could be a blow out

Victor and Willunga. What a huge game. I will be there with bells and whistles. Great match ups all around the ground. Should be on a Sunday so we can all go and watch! Hams, Portlock, Steele, Haskett and Baxter up against Ellis, Ellis, Hodge, Joraslafsky and Pittman.
Willunga to get up and hopefully in a close one

Goolwa the big improvers. Watched them last week and I could not believe the discipline. Compared to when Mansell coached a few years back this club has progressed enormously.
Unfortunately not quite far enough to beat the slow starting Compass. Webb will get on top of Jones and Ewer will be outrun by Burdett, and not sure if Goolwa can match up on Max
Compass to win in another close one

Yank with new player tops and maybe jumpers might break the ice in 2009. They would be dissappointed with their start after finishing strongly last year. According to all reports they had a chance last week.
Encounter Bay have really dropped from last year. Too few doing too much and more worried about other things than the ball.
Yankalilla in another close one

My Tips (got 1 wrong last week)

Willunga by enough, will be a good match
Yank and Bays to draw
Strath over McLaren but not by a lot
Creek to give pongy consecutive touch ups
Goolwa to beat Compass, tipping with the heart again
