Scratched wrote:Ace and Jack I see that your AFL sides are Essendon and Collingwood so i thought that you wouldnt mind taking the day off to sit back and watch your teams fight it out in the biggest minor round game of the year. Maybe they did it just for you blokes. I do see where your coming from Jack, would have been good to see a game played at wakey with the arch there in respect of the ANZAC's. Also with the army barracks near by would have seemed perfect for the occasion.

My thoughts exactly Scratchy! I must admit I didn't realize the set in stone draw from year to year included the top team having the bye in the 2nd round, but maybe a bit of initiative from the league considering the occasion? Too much to ask for I'm sure! BUT, having said that, yes I did very much enjoy watching our teams fight it out at the MCG (and I also very much enjoyed the result Ace ;) ), especially how we got up not long after Ace started playing the Colliwobble theme song on his phone, very, very enjoyable day! Zaharakis is my new hero! :prayer: =D> :supz: :finga: =))

And now time for the unfortunate part of my weekend! Congrats to both Ace and Swamp Monster who destroyed my so-called team in Dream Team comp. Obviously my boys are fair-weather players, and no good in the wet! I guess if you're Port Adelaide, you can just write it off as a bad day, until it keeps happening!

Rump and Red was a good night, a great win helped the mood a bit. I wasnt in the engine room after about 1am so Im sure I missed some quality action. Bones is all over it, he hit the weights hard over summer and has added about 800 grams to his frame. Dominated Saturday! Training Tues?

I didn't make the game at Balaklava but was told that Catford didn't turn up, coach ended up pulling on the togs to make up the 21 but didn't put himself on the field.

Apparently the weather was pretty bad - horizontal driving rain at times from my reports - Andy made the right move staying in the box ......

Yea - reckon he would - the form he showed in the B's a few years back was sharp :o .... no doubt he has been looking after himself and would love to also sit in the box all day with his gear on freezing his bits off ....

End of Catty's term at Balaklava perhaps?
I'm sure Andy wouldn't put up with that.

United were shown exactly where we are at on saturday by a Mallala midfield which was unstoppable after half time in terrible conditions. Little Whitty won & deserved the medal. Good game from Hardie also. Interesting to see Clive Waterhouse there with Eagles coach Mark Brandt?

Are Virginia that good this year or are Hamley not neccesarily improving like we had all thought. Early days still, i know, but to kick 20 goals on a day like saturday raises some questions. Especially when you could imagine the quagmire that was most likely Virginia oval.
One day original John Palmer will be found & the truth will be known.

MC's Tips This Week (2/2 last week)

United - No need for a reason
Two Wells - Tough game to pick. Balak with no Hayden or Andy Evans makes it tough for them to get up. TW by 5 goals.
Hamley Bridge - They have a more settled side. Virginia have turned over a lot of players and might take them a while to gel. HB by 16 points.

Could get another 3/3 this week or just as easily get none. Gonna be terrific football weather conditions for the weekend too.

Only got 1/3 this week and I was down a schooner to Donkey

enjoyed it too thanks mate, sorry I couldnt stay longer I promised big Will Banton a schooner after engaging in a few slanging matches with him on Saturday. MC u couldve told me he was a bouncer, Donkeys white flag would have been straight up pretty early on in the peace, instead the rib cage is still feeling the pinch, deserved everyone1 of them though. He'd def do some damage on a dry day, as he was pretty effective on Sat in the wet.

Haha. Chances are he won't be letting you in anywhere for free anytime soon. He did ask who you were straight after the game, so yes he might do damage in more ways than 1 on a dry day.

Full credit to you guys, beat us convincingly after half time. Would have been more if you kicked straight too. Hardie was the one that did the damage as he opened the game up for you. For some reason he always cuts us to pieces, maybe something to do with nobody standing him

What happened at Virginia? Massive score in the wet. Well done to them!

Virginia runners hurt us. Johnstone about 35 possesions. M.Young played his usual game but had the support from others. They should go good this year.
