Bomber Thompson said at the start of the year that Ablett was going to go to the forward lines instead of resting this year so that means more goals.

Now get out there and SPEND SPEND SPEND!! ;)

Just loosened the sphincter and did the deed. Was only $36 000 more expensive than he was at the start of the year so price not really an issue, just the 2 trades I had to burn to get him that hurt!

Well boys a few significant outs this weekend...

Nathan G Brown
Skipworth
Cooney again
Possibly Medhurst
Both Brisbane's ruckmen
The Ling thing
Broughton still out
Troy Simmonds omitted
Mitch Robinson omitted
No Cuzzy or Raines still
Kosi
Ivan Maric

And some significant ins

Coughlan of Richmond
Murphy of the Doggies
Aaron Edwards back for the Roos
Travis Tuck available
The skipper Cassisi
The Griffinator
Dasher Milburn for the Cats

I'm playing Woggy aka Hawker this week and I don't need to make any trades despite all of the above. If Tucky misses I've got Beams in reserve. Hopefully Adcock isn't a late withdrawal though as I would have to play Zac Dawson and he's cost me whenever I've had to play him so far this season.

I was tempted to trade but won't as I avoided any of the outs and would just be tinkering around. I didn't have Skippy from the start which was a mistake, despite the fact that he's now injured.

REB, are the rookie downgrade options worse this year than last? Seems to be difficult to find decent downgrade targets. If Harlett does will tonight I will cash out Brent Reilly next week I expect.

You can't really tell until some of them actually get on the ground. I reckon there are a few nuggets just waiting to be unearthed. Reilly has been a bit of a bummer. I went with Tuck which hasn't been much better because he's held together with scotch tape. I also had Masten and that was a complete **** up which has now been rectified. I was keen on Radar early and thought he would ark up in value so I'm glad I dodged that bullet.

Remember that some of the young players have yet to make their debut. Steele Sidebottom, Liam Anthony and Tom Swift are all midfield options that might be palatable later on in the year but if you don't trade this week then the move to Hartlett next week is a fairly sound one.

With my side I've got it just about right except for my forward line. Deledio is a horse's arse but I've done well with Nate Krak and Chappy and everyone has got Higgins that was a no brainer. The rest is a bit of a worry. Pav isn't getting tons, Hentschell is injured already and Walker and M Brown are averaging 50 and Ziebell is averaging 60. I've got to aim for Ziebell being my number seven forward so Hentschell is definetely in the gun.

After the first round in Premier League it is the two promoted sides from last year's Div I comp who lead the table. Perrenial powerhouse Poon Army has pulled a clanger in the first round and looking ahead to this week's fixture it looks like the chardys might be in line for a reality check against the reigning premier.

Shit

Terrible start and look in deep trouble in the head to head. Swapped Cox for Ablett as skipper and Cox scores 163 and Chardy has him as skipper. Richo off with a hammy and Brett Jones is useless.

Not very happy with Urquhart and Hodge right now. Woggy has both and both of these players have done jack all year and NOW they fire up. Don't worry about Gaz Pup he won't let you down but an inspired captaincy selection by the Chardys I must say.

Wow, I had a shocker, lucky to get away with a win, albeit a nailbiting 67 point win in the end. It's just lucky I traded Nathan Brown out of my forward line or I would've had a donut with Didak also not playing.

Happy with my sides performance this round - total score of 2200. Finally having Dean Cox as captain has paid off. Still tempted to pull some trades to get G Ablett into my side, but I think holding onto my current team is the way to go for now.

Very happy also with my overall ranking - 8,605 out of 313,860 is awesome!

Gordon Blues up from Div I last year is the surprise leader after two rounds of Hogg Premier League although Gordy has been gifted a soft draw early in the year. Great wins on the weekend by Boxheads Best and the chardonnays has them well placed as some of the established power teams of this comp had some losses. At the fag end of the league the Juddernaut has come to a complete standstill and the highly rated Cub is still on a donut for the year. In the match of the round unbeaten sides Gordon Blues and The Ginger Ninjas square off with the chance to start the year off at 3-0. Meanwhile, Darios will be flat out avoiding the drop if he can't defeat the Juddernaut.

After only a couple of rounds it could be possible to put a line through about five of these teams when it comes to finals action. There are currently six undefeated sides in this league and it won't be too long before there is a fair sized gap between 8th and 11th. Shocking effort of the week goes to smac who was absolutely smacced by CoverKing. You are going well when you can't beat Punkys score. Dutchy somehow tops the ladder even though he scored only 1538 on the weekend (and here's me getting done with 2100 grrrr). Darcy, the Squeaks and the Q Man look to be the genuine articles in this comp. Squeakeroos play Darcys mob this week in an early season blockbuster.

In Divvy II hollands heroes go from strength to strength by flogging the Lillies by nearly a thousand points which doesn't hurt the ol percentage one little bit. Michelle 'Gibbos' Underdogs is another side to benefit from a soft draw with another solid percentage booster. Cub is still searching for his first Hogg win as he was cleaned up by Gingernuts on the weekend and Hondos Hardnuts are another side that will be looking to promotion at the end of the year but now faces some competition in the form of Buddy's Dealer.

REB, your mum put up a very good fight! If she wasn't running a donut with Cheney and didn't cop the bad luck of Boomer Harvey's injury she could have won.

And she has Andy Otten ... I picked 3 Crows rookies in my team but he wasn't one of them. Doh!

My Mum's a Crows supporter! She looks to be getting the hang of the game though which is more than I can say for a few others in that league.

Petrenko, Dangerfield, Walker? I reckon a few of us would have that combo.

Don't talk to me about bloody Patrenko and Walker. Pretty hard to get points when the Professor has em on the bench all day. The axe will swing at this weeks REBCats selection meeting!

Yep, thought they would both have good games coming up against Melbourne (what a dud match BTW). Chose to sit Hill on the bench instead of Petrenko and he ends up scoring 70-odd! REB, I see you had a close one in the Premier, 52 points - OUCH!

Yes, all 3.

I am planning to upgrade Petrenko to either Mackie or McPhee this week as I said on the other thread because I think his price has stalled at $210K for now. I missed 45 points by playing him on the ground instead of Suban.

Dangerfield I still have faith in however I fear that Walker will find it tougher to hold his spot as the season goes on as it's his first year. He's only really scored well v Freo.
