Surely the bloke retired due to injuries, so why would he play Country football? It couldn't be for the money as he would make a s***t load more money playing for the Maggies and it's definitely not like it's a 5 minute drive for the bloke.

Retired due to being dropped to the reserves.

I dare say Mannum will offer him more than the $70 on offer for playing reserves footy. Whether it'll be enough to get big Clive travelling each week remains to be seen.

He was sniffing around Para Hills F/C last Thurs night & probably didn't play for them Sat because they couldn't pay him anymore than $250.
My belief is he'll travel for the $$$ as his pride was dented being dropped from the League team & he'd be insulted playing Bs.

Muffy out for 8? Big big blow to the Eagles. Was out at Tailem for the clash, didn't see what happened to him, but he didn't take any part of the second half.

Was a good game from a spectators point of view. Don't think Meningie will be too happy to have let that one slip and I don't think Tailem will be too happy to have gotten off to such a slow start. Was a very gutsy win however.

Was very impressed by Meningie's CHF... kicked 9 in a losing side, great effort. number 21 for Tailem, Linde impressed me and Hogarth has a real engine and very hard at it, played a good game. BOG would have to be Patt Gabb, absoultely domnated the ruck, gave Tailem every clearance in the last quater and led them to the win.

Highlight of the day- Hogarth's screamer, running back with the flight of the ball.

Low-light of the day- The O'Connell twin, who played brilliantly and bobbed up and kicked 5 goals at CHF wears number '69'... What kinda gurnsey set has 69 anyhow!?

Meningie certainly appear to have recruited very well, and it looks like they will be more than competitive. Would be interesting to see exactly how they've used their points, not that i'm implying they'd be over their allocation.

Picking up a few former SANFL under 19's seems to be a good recruiting move, and i think other clubs will continue that trend over the next few years. Plus a handy forward from Andamooka way and centreman from the Western Border League.

Will be interesting to see how they go this week against Jervois.

Don't really rate him shoe boy, probably gave more hits than he got kicks. Also played against in 2004 him when he was at Woodville South, was more influencial then. Wouldn't expect him to go to far out of the forward line. Could be wrong though.

meningie will beat jervois this sunday, i think they are a really good side that will make finals. they have a really good foward line and midfield with plenty of pace. i think jervois will stuggle against the pace of the bears

Few good games this week. Pretty excited by the shape the league is in so early, really there is only one stand out which is Imperials. But then again Tailem are yet to lose, and Ramblers have only had the one game which was a win the the GF rematch and I think people are writing them off too early.

So this week.

Mannum V Mypo

I reckon this will be a cracker. The Tigers ran outta steam against the Chooks and simply weren't good enough to go with Imps. They certainly miss Pedler across half back. Young Scott Meneghetti did well to keep gun forward Honnor to no goals after his 8 in round 1, but for Mypo to be playing their best footy, they need the tough nut in the middle attacking. Mannum I think could be very dangerous at their best, but its a matter of keeping consistant performances. I think Mypo will win, but only just.

Jervois V Meningie

The Bluds are on the slide, the Bears are on the rise. This will be a telling match for both clubs I think. Jervois haven't won yet and the Bears got run over by a pretty stong Tailem Bend, after controling much of the match in their only game. Meningie are quick, fast and run the ball well, with plenty of pacey midfielders. I reckon they'll be too much for Sammy's boys and could win by 5 or 6 goals.

Imperials V Ramblers

Blues too good for the Roosters. Imps by 40 odd points.

Just read on another footy forum a comment from someone that they were at the Mannum Footy Club on Saturday night and there was talk of Clive Waterhouse having signed with the Roos. Will be interesting to hear if this is confirmed.

Just noticed on Imps' website their result against Ramblers

Imp 17-12 (114) d Ram 5-15 (46)

Imps must be a reasonable chance to go through undefeated this year.
