how naive you are, i have nothing to do with Mt Lofty! I just dont see what that is going to show you... The game will simply show you who is better, you or Bridgy! The result will not be indicative as to where either side is now at, or whether they will truly be a top 5 contender!!!

actually, you're equally naive as I have nothing to do with Birdwood.

I must be missing something here, all a couple of posters have said is that the game between bridgy and birdwood will show where the two teams are at, enabling us all to have a better measure of their progress. No-ones mentioned challenging the big guns.

sheesh....it's not rocket science.

both Justin and Luke Curtis are now at birdwood, you're right Justin has been there for a number of years, Luke has joined his brother this year. All reports are Josh Davis is doing a great job, very well respected man around the club, doesnt say too much, but i've never once seen him back out of a contest, he certainly leads by example..... and has a very tidy mrs. ;)

Yeah back at Uraidla. Kicked 7 in the 2's first round. Fair chance will be seen in the 1's this year.

Is it true the Curtis boys have changed their name? Saw them play at Birdwood the other week, but didnt seem to match up with the team list.
Saw Davis play too, very good defender, courageous too, but can see why he slips under the radar with matt krieg and magahey running around. best hills footballers ive seen lately...

Yeah they're now Justin and Luke Highfold. Not totally sure of the reason for the change.

oh ok fair enough. must be some family shoice. So how are they going out there. also think luke used to be at salisbury or sulisbury west. whichever one fabian francis was at. Glad Josh is going well. always rated him, seems the quiet achiever, hopefully the new recruits dont get all the glory when guys like Josh, matago and mash are still working hard.

Ryan planned to come back to Uri early in cricket preseasonas he had a joking contract wiv one of uri's junior footballers saying he would play footy for uri if that junior played cricket for uri. he has told most he is only interested in playin B's this year and would doubt he would push for A grade selection. Could easily be the leading goal kicker in the B's this yr though

Will be a big weekend of footy, with Anzac always bring something special to the footy. Also looking like being terrible weather which will be a factor also.

Anyways, my tips are...

Mt Lofty vs Ironbank - Seems the thunderers are struggling a bit this year, and this week probably won't help their cause. Having said that the gap between 1st and last this year is far smaller than in years gone by (not saying either team is 1st or last) but Mt Lofty should win but about 6 goals in a low scoring game due to weather

Birdwood vs Bridgewater - I was all excited about getting our trip down to Bridgewater out of the way early before the wet comes, and then it decides to bucket down! Oh well... Will be a great game I think, with both teams having a good week and riding a wave of confidence. I think we should get up by about 4 - 5 goals.

Hahndorf vs Lobethal - Hahndorf game plan, give ball to Bartemucci and let him score a goal! This guy is a great player, and kicks many goals. Seems like the kind of player who'll dominate in the wet as well. My tip for Mail Medal (if one of our lads doesn't sneak in). I'd say Hahndorf by 14 goals.

Uraidla vs Mt Barker - Haven't seen the Barkers yet this year, but I believe Uraidla are going to have a great year. I'd say U's by 5 goals

Blackwood vs Onkas - haven't seen either team yet, but going on form and word around town I'll go Blackwood by 2 goals. Onkas will be better than people have mentioned... getting that close to Mt Lofty will tell that to anyone but I still think the woods will have too much quality.

Scores will probably be quite low this week, but hey, that's wet weather footy.

Spenda is an unfortunate out, has had a great preseason (injury free). Only a minor issue so should be back soon. Devils will however have a few handy ins this week, including premiership back 6 gun Michael O'Connor for his first run for the year.

Dont think there would be a spot for him in mt loftys full strength side, but may be able to snag a game if he keeps playing well and there are a few injuries

Scores should be low, a few years ago torrens valley were killing Milang in the wet, twenty goals or something at half time in horrible conditions wet windy hail, Milang refused to come back out after the break. so big scores can happen. hahahaha
