IMO would be one of the top 2 or 3 players running round in this comp.

I remember last year a BL player was reported for for contact with or striking an umpire, same game another was sent off for mooning an ump, neither of these went to the tribunal either.

Played for Portland last year and was going to go around with them again this year, but changed his mind and went back to West Croydon. Is a ruckman, probably one of the best in Div 6 at the moment.

cheers mate.

oh great another good ruckmen running around to come up against i use to think CHF was the most important spot on the ground but after spending a couple of years in the midfield ruckmen are the most important player on the ground by a mile!

yeah was one of the A grade ruckmans for us last year!
definately played a part in helping us win
his tap work is great
without seeing the rest of the ruckman in div 6, I would say he is top 2 more than likely!
gives his centre men first use of the ball every time!!

After watching Trinity's game last week not sure who this guy is but didnt see any trinity standouts. They are a good young running side. What position does he play?? Wouldn't say any of there players were in the top 2 or 3 in the comp

In my experience if your onballers are good enough you can have an average game as a ruckman every once and while and things are still fine. When the ruckmen and onballers are on fire then starts the goal frenzy. I'd say ruckmen are important but the onballers are more important.

Always nice to have a good tap ruckman giving first opportunity to your on ballers and at stoppages around the ground.

I would agree
You can get by with an average ruckman but you need good centreman/rovers in your side
if they are good enough then they will be able to read the other teams ruckman!!
definately makes things a hell of alot easier if u do have a good ruckman though!!

all very good points i guess its an arguement no1 is going to win its just a matter of opinion as to who we think the important player on the ground is. For mine its still the ruckmen if his getting his hands to the ball first its gives the onballers a huge advantage at all the stoppages but saying that if his no good around the ground then he aint worth having its a fine line.

example; cox over ablett? or brown, judd i would say no but maybe others would disagre

my opinion: there is not one important player on the ground but 18..every player is as important as the other, they all have a role to play no matter if that role is as simple as just beating his opponent..at the end of the day it could be the worst player in the side that wins the game with his only kick of the match

Round 3 Tips

Glenunga vs West Croydon : 0-39 Wet weather may mean its not a high scoring game
Central Utd vs Trinity : 39 + Trinity just too strong all over the ground
Mitchell Park vs CLG : 39+ MP key fwd suspended, leaving a big hole. Perhaps we might see MP rough up CLG in the wet
Hectorville vs Lockleys : 0-39 Match of the round for me. Depends on who the rain suits better, just think Lockleys have the edge
Paralowie vs Brahma Lodge : 0-39 Have stuck with BL, but a Paralowie win wouldn't surprise, weather should suit them as they have older, bigger bodies than most in Div 6. Just think BL have the winning form on the board.

Should be interesting to see what happens with the weather (downpours predicted late in the week). I have played safe with my tips, but anything can happen in footy, especially if it rains.

Would have to think Glenunga are a genuine chance in the wet at home.
