Yeah there was a bit of dirt flying around. Thommo played well, gave a spark in the middle in the 4th, kicked 5, not sure that he did too many handball drills as a kid though :D "Hollywood" as Swamp refers to him was a bit quiet but showed some class here and there. Chivel inspirational, David "previously under the radar" Oswald showed why he's the "best west coaster" and probably took the 3 votes ahead of Joel "Ronald" Mont.

I see Benny "can I come back" Lamond was in the best, and named at Full Forward.... they lost by 10 goal, did he move down back?

How did James "Producer" Rundle go in the guts saturday? wow thats a lot of "'s

since i did so well last week???

mallala by a goal
two wells by 20 points
hamley by a point

balak didnt impress from all reports, maybe the lack of bluey mcmillan?
mallala better than expected or HWE not as good as we all thought they would be?
hamley just cos i never want to see virginia to win a game

Probably more the 2nd one than the 1st streakof. I don't know why anyone would expect Mallala to be anything less than they have been, they still have the midfield guns. And if you allow them time and space as we did on Saturday, they are going to carve you up. And with J. Earl still to play in 09 (courtesy of the dreaded baby cow), things look good for them.

As for us, it's going to take some time to get everyone on the same page I spose. New coach, new forward 6, new back 6, these things often don't click straight away, and while disappointed with the loss, I think we too have a lot to look forward to. I hope! Discipline is one area in particular that needs to be improved. I think all Mallala's goals in the 3rd quarter came from free kicks IIRC. And Reidy snapping a great goal in the last quarter only for it not to count because a free kick was given against for mouthing off at the ump (not by Reidy) was crucial.

Huge game at Wakey Sat week v United, sounds like they're going all right! We can't afford to drop many more if we want to finish in the top two, as past years have shown.

another run in with a runner??

Ha ha. He didnt tell me about that on sunday! But he seemed ultra happy with his comeback from injury and beginning of his new forward line career.

S.Irish and T.McArdle both in the goal kickers list on the weekend. Look forward to a shootout between the two big boys on Saturday

If your asking about the BIGGER recruits well yes Thomas played well kicked 5, his highlight was in the 3rd quarter when he kicked a quality goal and ran around along the boundary giving the fist pumps yelling "yeeeesssss coooommmmeeee oooooonnnn" to the veranda of 15 people. Whether he was happy with his goal or the fact that he was able to find a park when he rolled up I'm still not sure. Where will everyone park semi final day?

The oval looked quite good for this time of the year green and soft.

Geez I had to park at the Pub and walk! Semi Final day people are likely to park 30km up the road where the game will be played!

Will there be room on the field for the rest of their teams??? Damn, big Saveloy took up the whole forward half at little ol' Wakey oval! Is it true Swamp that his is a special needs guernsey, in that extra material was added to the biggest one you could find? Top lad though! ;)

Was a good tip by Old School but I dont think he wouldve featured in the votes Saturday. Votes for me: 3-J Montgomerie, 2-C.Rimmer, 1-D. Thomas

Big Sav certainly adds a bit to a game of B grade, great value. Not sure about the one he wears now, but the one that was burnt in Arge's car fire at Virginia last year had modified specs. Anything to get the big fella out for a kick

Doubt it, it says its at Wakey on my new McArdles key ring!, and I'd reckon as its the club who hosts the final not the league I'd think the Club would chose to hold it at Lochiel as it is the better ground for football and parking.

Was enjoying the Opening of IPL in SA when news come thru of my pre season tip Mushy Oswald holding up, was even better news then watching KP and Dravid bat together! Might have been onto something there... can someone please fill me in on Benny Edwards and his feats over the weekend. There is no doubt about that great man. Did Swamp have the week off.

Also curious if D Oswalds old man will be allowed back into HWE land after his performances GF night last year. Heard he might have dragged the West Coaster name thru the mud backwards
